First up, I bring you to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Hiroshima is well known as the first city in the world history, that was atomic bombed. You may walk and drop by at many spots built to commemorate those who perished in those days and learn more at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. After that study tour, we roam around Central Hiroshima (the busiest street for shopping) and finally arrive at Okonomiyaki restaurant for early supper. Okonomiyaki is Hiroshima's soul food; a savory pancake filled with chopped vegetables, meat, sea food, noodle, egg and whatever you want, even cheese... Actually this is the origin of the name of Okonomiyaki, since Okonomi literally means "as you like" and yaki means grilled. Fun to see how to make on a huge iron plate and exciting to eat with a special tool (Kote). Just give it a try.read more

The grand Tori Gate of the Itsukushima shrine in Miyajiam is fully covered with scaffold now due to its replacement work. The city government has started to investigate its condition to identify the damage and will decide a replacement or repair method. The completion period has not been set.
However what Miyajima has is not only the Tori Gate. 14 % of the whole island was designated as a world heritage site. The gate is just part of it and I believe you still cannot miss this beautiful island even the gate itself is covered unfortunately. Thanks for your understanding.

Very interesting informative & enjoyable
Dear David and Family, I am so grateful that you took the time out to leave such a good review. I would love to continue providing my guiding service to awesome clients like you. Thank you very much. Best, Mayumi
Had a wonderful day with Mayumi. She was so helpful and patient. She worked very hard to do everything I asked and more. I really enjoyed talking to her and learned a lot. She is very knowledgeable and a lot of fun! We went to Rabbit Island and talked a lot on the way over and back. I know I was an unusual client since I am quite old and still asked to go to Rabbit Island. :) She packed a LOT into one day for me. It is a day I will remember always. Thanks Mayumi. I hope I can return to Hiroshima some day to do some more sightseeing. I did not have time to see everything. I need to return.
Dear Carol, I thank you so much for the excellent review you kindly posted! I am very happy you loved the tour with me. I also loved the wonderful time spent with you. There is a famous Japanese idiom which describes a cultural concept of treasuring the unrepeatable nature of a moment; Ichi-go, Ichi-e. It can be translated as " once in a life time" or " treasure every meeting as it may not come again". However I can’t wait to have you back here, Lol. Wish you great health, happiness and successful business. Best. Mayumi
We had a very memorable day with Mayumi, who was most generous to make herself available on New Year’s Day for us. Her insights and connection to Hiroshima and its history made the day much more interesting, and helping to navigate Miyajima island on such a busy day of the year was invaluable. We would highly recommend her.
Dear David, I thank you very much for such a nice review. We just opened the book which pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book's first chapter is New Year’s Day and I was fortunate I spent great time with you to start with. Happy New Year! Best, Mayumi
We had a wonderful day with Mayumi. She is a wealth of knowledge and learned so much from her. She made great suggestions that helped maximize our day. Her English is also perfect. My 12 year old son was completely engaged on the tour and learning about Hiroshima’s tragic history from Mayumi. I would definitely recommend her.
Dear Meredith and Family I very much appreciate your great review which makes my day...or my year?! Lol. Wishing you a Happy New Year with the hope that you will have many blessings in the year to come. May God pour love and care on you all. Warm regards, Mayumi
We (2 adults) spent a day with Mayumi in Hiroshima area, visiting Miyajima and the peace park. Mayumi is a knowledgeable and friendly person, speaking exceptional English and we had great time. I am only sorry for allocating only one day for the area. If it is your first time to Hiroshima, you will need at least 2-3 days to visit the places we did as well as the Castle, Japanese Garden and the city itself.
Dear Gal. Thank you very much for your good review. Wishing you all beautiful moments, treasured memories, and all the happiness a heart can know. Happy New Year!
