Hakone locats in Fuji-Hakone Izu National Park, which is about 2 hours away from Tokyo by Odakyu Romance Car or JR Line. It has been a very popular resort place with Lake Ashi, museums, Ryokan or Japanese style inns with hot spring etc. Moreover the beautiful view of Mt. Fuji is really breathtaking. To take many unique rides that connect the spot to spot are also fun experience!!
Feel free to personalize this offer with Eiko.
75-minute Odakyu Romancecar ride from Shinjyuku takes you to the totally different place from Tokyo. Hakone has been a popular resort place wiht the hot springs, beautiful mountains and a lake, art museums and historical ryokans and hotels etc. Hakone also has a long history as a checkpoint on the Old Tokaido Route in Edo period. There are many nice places I would like to show you!! Therefore I like my client to choose one or two options from option 1 to 6, which make(s) this tour a very special!!
*Option 1-- Hakone museum: It's Japanese garden has hundreds of Japanese maple trees and the moss covered garden with rocks. Having a cup of Green Tea at a peaceful Tea room is such a time of bliss!
*Option 2-- Hakone checkpoint: At this place you can learn how people in Edo ara travel and/or how taugh to pass Mt. Hakone without holding Tegata, an old time ID card.
*Option 3-- Hakone shrine: The eye catcy vermillion red Torii, a shrine gate standing in the lake water is an iconic thing of Lake Ashi. It is picturesque! You will also enjoy walking the street lined up with the tall old Japanese cedara trees toward the shrine hall.
*Option 4-- Odakyu Hotel de Yama's azalea garden: This option is limited in May only when the azalea blooms. On clear days, those beautiful azalea and the view of Mt. Fuji creat a breathtaking scenery.
*Option 5-- Shinkansen short ride experience: For those who don't get any chances to use Shinkansen during Japan trip, this is a good chance to experience Japan technology. At Odawara station in the late afternoon, you can expect to see Shinkansen every once in 5 minutes. Would you like to shoot a video?!
*Option 6-- Odawara castle: Visiting the castle is fun but this castle has a samurai/ninjya/etc costume experience activity. You can walk around the castle in those costumes!!
Each optional activity differes the time required. For more information, please contact me prior to booking.

Sorry but not always.
In Hakone there are some Mt. Fuji viewpoints. However there is no guarantee of it. Mt. Fuji is seen more often when the air is clear; in the morning and during winter.
It is possible only for a small group. However it is always nessecary to ask me about it.
I cannot provide this service in the high peak season of spring. But I can always help you check the Shinkansen reservation situation of your tour day!!

Eiko is very knowledgeable and is a great guide for Tokyo; highly recommended
Thank you for choosing me as your Tokyo guide this time. I’m glad the review. Our tour started from your flight change. We were able to see and talk many things including the wedding procession at Meiji shrine, the live piano concert at Metropolitan government office observatory. But on the other hand the pearl shop was closed, couldn’t see Mt. Fuji.. Hoping you come back to Japan again in the near future. Have a safe flight back home! Eiko
Traveling alone for my first business trip to Japan. The wish of understanding the culture of the country, how people live, who they are, basically having a real experience of Tokyo. How do you accomplish all this if you only have one day free? I was extremely lucky to meet Eiko through the Triple Lights website. We started chatting as she wanted to know my objective of hiring a guide. And she was able to tailor on my desires the perfect Tokyo experience. She is absolutely an experienced guide who, thanks to her professionalism, her deep Knowledge of every angle of Tokyo, her adaptability, her friendly attitude made me feel like walking around the city with a friend . We visited historical palaces, temples, crowded streets. We had a taste of amazing local food. We took the metro, w... read more
Hi Christina, Thank you very much for spending your precious time to write a review especially after a long work day. And it is a great great great review and I feel ecstatic!! Thank you!!:-) It was a very hot day but we walked a lot, didn’t we!! The parasol and Tenugui, a cotton cloth worked well. :-) We talked about many things during the tour. I was very happy to see you enjoying the lotus flowers, scenery, food, culture, nature even Japanese history that I introduced you. We shared delicious local food together! And you also taught me many things that you’ve learnt through your business trips in other countries. Thank you!! I was so much comfortable throughout the.tour. Maybe we were just the two girls of us. Anyway, thank you for having me as your Tokyo guide!! I’m looking forward ... read more
My husband, 10 year old son and I booked Eiko twice... First, for our 1st day in Tokyo to help us get acquainted with Suica cards, the transit system, and make train reservations. Our son also requested a visit to the Hokusai museum and some fun character-toy shopping. Eiko is very kind and knowledgeable and knew all the perfect spots to go. We booked her a second day later in our trip to guide us around Hakone and her experience with all the different forms of transportation was much appreciated. From first contact, it was easy to communicate with Eiko and make arrangements. Our son asked me to say “She was really good at being a guide!” Agreed!
Hi Allyson, How is your Japan trip going?! I think it is almost ending, but I’m sure you’ve made a lot of nice memories! Thank you very much for sparing time to write a review especially when you were busy. And it is so nice!! Your son Bodhi was an intelligent young artist!! And It was my pleasure to be with all you for two days. I can easily recall your smile faces, which bring me something warm in my heart. Thank you for having me as your Japan guide! I hope you can come back to Japan soon. And I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon!! Take care, Eiko
We really enjoyed our day with Eiko. She helped give us a great intro to Tokyo, and by the end of the day felt like a family friend. Speaks excellent English due to several years living in the US. We highly recommend her to you as a guide.
Hi Peter, Thank you very much for this wonderful review. You were such an intelligent family that you always showed your interests while listening to my guiding even in the rain. And again, let me apologize that Kabukiza was over crowded, didn’t allow us to see a single act. That was one of the things on your wish list. I hope you could enjoy Kabukiza gallery instead. I can’t say thank you enough for your understanding and generosity. And I felt exactly the same way about your family at the end of our tour!! I hope to see all of you again soon in the near future!! Have a great rest of your Japan trip! And Take care, Arigato gozaimashita !! Eiko
Eiko is a wonderful tour guide for Tokyo! Extended the tour couple hours longer to visit more location and she was very accommodating! She is excellent and highly recommended!
Thank you so much for a great review with 5 stars!! It was also a fun tour to me too especially because I could see Trenton and Alicia's big smaile faces when they found their favorite things about Japan; anime related goods such as Naruto T-shrit, Hello Kitty goods, a samurai sword like umbrella, etc. :-) :-) I was also vrey happy because you liked the soba noodle place that I picked for your lunch! And more and more!! I definitly believe you will come back to Japan soon! Take care, all of you!! Eiko
