Hakone locats in Fuji-Hakone Izu National Park, which is about 2 hours away from Tokyo by Odakyu Romance Car or JR Line. It has been a very popular resort place with Lake Ashi, museums, Ryokan or Japanese style inns with hot spring etc. Moreover the beautiful view of Mt. Fuji is really breathtaking. To take many unique rides that connect the spot to spot are also fun experience!!
Feel free to personalize this offer with Eiko.
75-minute Odakyu Romancecar ride from Shinjyuku takes you to the totally different place from Tokyo. Hakone has been a popular resort place wiht the hot springs, beautiful mountains and a lake, art museums and historical ryokans and hotels etc. Hakone also has a long history as a checkpoint on the Old Tokaido Route in Edo period. There are many nice places I would like to show you!! Therefore I like my client to choose one or two options from option 1 to 6, which make(s) this tour a very special!!
*Option 1-- Hakone museum: It's Japanese garden has hundreds of Japanese maple trees and the moss covered garden with rocks. Having a cup of Green Tea at a peaceful Tea room is such a time of bliss!
*Option 2-- Hakone checkpoint: At this place you can learn how people in Edo ara travel and/or how taugh to pass Mt. Hakone without holding Tegata, an old time ID card.
*Option 3-- Hakone shrine: The eye catcy vermillion red Torii, a shrine gate standing in the lake water is an iconic thing of Lake Ashi. It is picturesque! You will also enjoy walking the street lined up with the tall old Japanese cedara trees toward the shrine hall.
*Option 4-- Odakyu Hotel de Yama's azalea garden: This option is limited in May only when the azalea blooms. On clear days, those beautiful azalea and the view of Mt. Fuji creat a breathtaking scenery.
*Option 5-- Shinkansen short ride experience: For those who don't get any chances to use Shinkansen during Japan trip, this is a good chance to experience Japan technology. At Odawara station in the late afternoon, you can expect to see Shinkansen every once in 5 minutes. Would you like to shoot a video?!
*Option 6-- Odawara castle: Visiting the castle is fun but this castle has a samurai/ninjya/etc costume experience activity. You can walk around the castle in those costumes!!
Each optional activity differes the time required. For more information, please contact me prior to booking.

Sorry but not always.
In Hakone there are some Mt. Fuji viewpoints. However there is no guarantee of it. Mt. Fuji is seen more often when the air is clear; in the morning and during winter.
It is possible only for a small group. However it is always nessecary to ask me about it.
I cannot provide this service in the high peak season of spring. But I can always help you check the Shinkansen reservation situation of your tour day!!

Eiko was a wonderful guide in Kamakura. We had such a good time. Everyone should do this tour!
Hi Will! It’s very nice to hear from you again. And thank you very much for the wonderful review with 5 stars!! The half day Kamakura tour with all of you was so merry that I felt it much shorter. :-) Your happy smile faces made me very happy too! Again, thank you so much for having me as your Kamakura guide this time! Please come back to Japan again soon! Take care! Eiko P.S Please say ‘Hello’ to Wiky, Bess and Will, her husband for me!!
We spent a wonderful 6 hours with Eiko-san, a very knowledgeable and professional tour guide. She was excellent in arranging the itinerary so that we were able to cover as much as possible in such a short time, but at the same time she was also flexible in accommodating our interest and physical condition (my husband just had a surgery few days before the trip and was not able to walk as fast as he used to). We visited Tokyo Sky Tree (it was good that we started our day tour here because the morning queue line was still short), then Akihabara animae and electronic center (a must see for millenials! 😃), and a lunch break at an excellent Vegetarian Ramen in Harajuku area (didn't think Vegan dish could be that tasty!). After lunch we went to Meiji Shrine (beautiful tranquil place, not to be ... read more
Hi Budi and her family!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful review!! I was lucky to have such a blessed guests like you. It’s been so nice weather since you have arrived. Even if it rained or blew heavy wind at night, the very next morning it stopped and the sky became so blue! Thank you for bringing the nice weather!! And I felt very comfortable being with you throughout the tour because you treated me very nicely and showed your interests to my guiding each time. I really appreciate it. Your son is also very nice! I was happy to know him likes Japanese animation! I felt really close to him and all of you to know that you’ve watched many Japanese animation programs such as Captain Tsubasa, Doraemon, etc!! Today’s weather was also very nice and I’m sure you had a good time at Mt. F... read more
I thoroughly enjoyed my day your of the highlights of Tokyo with Eiko! It was the first day of my trip and was a great start for my adventure. Eiko was very flexible with the schedule and provided on the go suggestions. She gave insights into Japanese culture and an introduction on who to navigating the city's transportation. She was very nice to spend the day with.
Hi Asha, Thank you for the review. Your tour day was on Monday and almost all the museums and Japanese gardens plus Kabukiza were closed. Therefore, prior to the tour, we discussed the spots to substitute them. I suggested Tokyo Skytree and you agreed to go there. But on the tour day, you changed your mind because of the entrance fee.. It was a nice sunny day and there was a high possibility to view Mt. Fuji. So I took you to Tokyo metropolitan government office to visit their observatory. However there was a very long waiting line and forced us to give it up.. Im sorry if these were the reasons that you couldn’t fully enjoy.. I really hope you come back to Tokyo again in the future!! Eiko
I was in town on my own for the day with business, and Eiko (rhymes with Seiko) toured me around Tokyo for a good 8 hours of walking / public transport. A shrine, a temple, a museum, lunch, electronics shopping, the fish market, and many other places. She tailored the tour to my interests and was a joy to spend time with. Thanks again Eiko. - Jason
Hi Jason, it’s very nice to hear from you! I hope your flight back home was a comfortable one. Thank you very much for the wonderful review! It made me a big smile. :-) We did/saw many things together, more than I was expecting because I believed you have brought all the fortune! We encountered the special event related to the accession of Japan’s new emperor and signed the book at Meiji shrine, scooped nearly 30 goldfish all together, Maidreamn, New Magnet observatory, etc! And you have told me the mutual things between England and Japan. Thank you for all the information! I definitely would like you to come back to Japan with your family in the near future! Take care and see you again soon! Eiko
What a pleasure it was to have Eiko. Absolutely lovely lady that made our tour very special. When I come back to Tokyo, I would definitely use Eiko as our guide. You can’t go wrong with her. 👏👏👍👍
Hi Pete, Your review made me so pleased. Thank you very much!! On the day of our tour, it was raining so hard and we needed to change our itinerary a little but I am glad to know that you had a good time. It was very special to sit and see Kabuki together, visit the replica food shop, draw a fortune telling paper etc! Moreover we talked a LOT. :-) South Africa team won today and I’m happy for you! Let’s cross our fingers! Lastly, please keep on your pleasant journey. And see you again soon! Take care, Eiko
