We had a wonderful time with Toshi. She was prompt and very welcoming. She met us early and took us all around Tokyo. She knew a great deal about the places we visited and we learned a lot. Our schedule included a lot of walking but she was full of energy and good cheer. She has a great sense of humor. I would recommend Toshi to anyone who wants an energetic knowledgeable guide in Tokyo. Thank you Toshi!
Thank you, Tonia and Ed! So glad you enjoyed your layover-weekend in Tokyo. We took advantage of the day by starting our tour early. Sensoji Temple and Asakusa Shrine were so peaceful. Koi fish welcomed us! The exhibition of the Edo-Tokyo Museum was interesting, wasn’t it? Japan is an island country and we had an isolation policy for over 200 years. That’s why we are still preserving such a unique culture. Please come back soon! There's so much more I have to show you!
My time in Tokyo with Toshi was very enjoyable. Toshi knows so much about the history of Japan and every little corner of the city. I asked her to visit specific sites and she delivered them beautifully. Toshi is graceful and calm which made for a very delightful day. Thank you, Toshi! I will be back!
Thank you, Mariluz! Glad to know you had fun; I did too! You requested a shopping tour for products made in Japan such as organic cosmetics, ceramics, stationaries, and green tea. What do you think of Ginza stores? I felt like as if we were doing museum-hopping as products were so beautifully displayed. Don‘t you think so? Our next stop was a small shopping mall with unique artisan works. There are more stores you need to check out! Please come back to Tokyo in spring so that you can see the cherry blossoms. Hope to see you again.
Toshi is a marvelous guide! We had a great day with her in Tokyo. She is knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the day with. We especially appreciated her kindness and flexibility as we had to rearrange our plans due to Typhoon Hagibis. Thank you Toshi for both your support and for showing us an awesome day!
Arigato, Wendy! I also had a wonderful time with you and your family. So glad that we managed to hit all the places (and food) you wanted to visit. There are over 100 choices of crepes in Harajuku. Just looking at the colorful samples in front of the food stands was fun, wasn't it? You looked so cool with the beer at a warmly cozy bar in Golden Gai. How was the taste of Yakitori (skewered chicken) in Omoide Yokocho? Hope you liked it. Please come back as Tokyo has more local food you must try. Matane! (see ya' in English)
Toshi provided consistently excellent, knowledge-based, personalized touring. She’s a warm, engaging person who immediately made us all feel comfortable. In the planning for our trip, she was very responsive and helpful when replying to our questions and helped tailor our time with her to match our interests and physical abilities. She has very broad knowledge about Tokyo and Japan, their geography and history, and more than satisfied all our questions. She’s a very engaging speaker, she made sure we were all involved. She followed up on all issues in a complete and timely manner. She made excellent recommendations for places of interest we wanted to visit on our own. We couldn’t be more pleased with her service and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her as a guide.
Thank you, Seymour. Glad to hear you enjoyed our tour! I aim to please! It was great to spend two days with all of you. We had fun in Harajuku while we had meaningful time to immerse ourselves in the arts and culture in Ueno & Yanaka. The Asakura mansion is stunning, isn’t it? Please come back to Tokyo in a different season to see the flowers, e.g., cherry blossoms in late March and lotus flowers in July. In addition, let’s explore Yokohama together!
The Meiji-jingu Shrine, Harajuku, Shinjuku and the Shibuya Crossing, with stops at a cat cafe, DAISO store, a fantastic tonkatsu lunch and shopping all along the way—that’s how my husband and I spent our amazing day with Toshi. She’s informative, fun and could not have been lovelier. I recommend Toshi to anyone reading this review, as I will back home in Los Angeles to my friends planning future visits to Japan.
Thank you for your kind words, Laura and Paul! Your glowing review is very humbling. I quite enjoyed my day with you, too! So happy we could find shirts and shoes that your sons had requested in Harajuku. Maisen, the restaurant we had lunch, is the one of the most popular tonkatsu (pork fillet cutlet) restaurants in Tokyo. Enjoy the rest of your stay. Hope to see you (and your friends, perhaps) again in the near future!
