Enjoy Hakone in a customized way,

What to Expect

Either coming from Tokyo to enjoy one day tour, 2nd day coming from Mt. Fuji are to enjoy wider area of Mt. Fuji, Hakone cannot be missed since lots of attractions including grand scale view of Mt. Fuji wait for you. There are some package ticket available to enjoy the area and why not use such ticket to fully enjoy the area. However, it is true this area is much affected by the weather. Mt. Fuji visibility is highly dependent on the weather. But lots of museums in the area will not make you disappointed.

I am a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter living in Yamanashi Prefecture. My name is Yuji. The area of Mt. Fuji is actually part of Yamanashi Prefecture. Tourists to Mt. Fuji area are not necessarily aware of that. Mt. Fuji as the highest mountain in Japan is on the border of Yamanashi and Shizuoka prefectures. In Yamanashi sit the 2nd highest mountain, Mt. Kitadake and the 3rd highest mountain of Mt. Ainodake. Yamanashi faces no sea and capital city of Kofu is in the basin area.

I grew up in Yamanashi until high school and then I studied and worked in Tokyo Metropolitan area. I came back to Yamanashi at the end of 2002. During my working days for companies including Harley-Davidson Japan, I had sharpened my English and communication skills. I had some opportunities to escort executives or employees of Harley-Davidson Motor Company and I have vaguely been thinking how rewarding it is to guide people. Now I have clear prospect about guiding.

After I came back to Yamanashi, I have also developed further enthusiasm about hiking in mountains and exploring the nature. If you are interested in any special type of hiking such as hiking to see snow capped Mt. Fuji, I will be the perfect fit to arrange. I have many hiking experiences including several times to Mt. Fuji, 2nd highest Kitadake and many more mountains in Yamanashi, Mt. Fuji Area.

Due to my strong interest about people from different background and different culture, I love to meet people. I am flexible and act ********** will be my basis about being in this field.

I look forward to meeting a lot of people through my guiding. I have developed my tour plans listed but I can make your dreams come true through any other planning as well. I can explore things with you, hike with you, and even climb Mt. Fuji with you.

Please contact me to find more and what I can offer.
I will respond quickly. I am learning Halal things now.

Thank you for your time. read more

We had a wonderful day with Yuji touring the Mt Fuji area. He is an excellent guide - very knowledgeable, funny, friendly - and was great with our kids. He customised the day perfectly to meet our needs and interests. My Fuji and surrounds are spectacular, not to be missed. We highly recommend Yuji!!

“ An excellent day tour of Mt Fuji & 5 Lakes (Fujigoko) with Yuji ”

---Review of the Customized tour in Mt. Fuji /Fuji Goko (Fuji 5 Lakes) Area including Lake Kawaguchiko--- Our party of 4 booked Yuji for this day tour on April 9, 2018. Yuji was very responsive from the very beginning when we first discussed our desired itinerary, advised us on the the JR Pass details, and even made a reservation on the Mishima - Kawaguchiko bus on our behalf. We crammed a lot into this 11-hour tour. Yuji arrived at our hotel punctually at 7:30 am and had arranged for very smooth transport logistics. On the tour, Yuji was very friendly, pleasant and knowledgeable on Japan's history, geography and details of the different places we visited. For lunch, at our request, Yuji took us to a very nice restaurant well-known for its HouTou noodle (a Mt Fuji specialty not available elsewhere in Japan) and thoughtfully requested a table with western-style seating for us. The large and steamy bowls of noodles were delicious and very filling. By the end of the day, Yuji had taken us to every spot on our itinerary, and taken many pictures for the 4 of us along the way. For the finale, we requested a good spot for sunset pics with lake and mountain scenery. Yuji happily obliged and took us to his fave spot, and also to Oishi Park on the other side of Lake Kawaguchi. We were very pleased with Yuji and couldn't wait to do the Hakone Day Tour with him the next day ! We would highly recommend Yuji to anyone visiting the Mt Fuji + 5 Lakes and Hakone areas. Dan L. Just like the previous day, Yuji was easygoing, funny, very friendly, and pleasant, and his transport logistics were smooth and flawless, no small feat with swarms of sakura tourists tripping on each other everywhere! By now, traveling with Yuji was more like touring with a good Japanese friend; his cultural, geography, and history facts were more like storytelling and made us enjoy and appreciate Japan even more. After we dropped off the luggage at our Hakone hotel, Yuji took us first to Ubako Station for the round trip ride on the Hakone Air Gondola to Owadukani (Sulphur Valley). We got nice shots of Mt Fuji, the steamy sulphur mines and the air gondolas, and especially fabulous closeups of Mt Fuji with our big zoom lens! We enjoyed the awesome view of Lake Ashi on the way down to Hakone Shrine, where we marveled and snapped away 😉 at the sight of our first floating-in-water torii gate of the whole trip! After trekking up the hill for the shrine visit, we headed to a nearby eatery for delicious bowls of shrimp tempura soba noodles with Yuji playing translator. 😉 After lunch, Yuji took us to the other side of Lake Ashi for amazing across-the-lake zoom shots of the torii gate with canoes and boats passing by, followed by a leisurely stroll along Kyukaido Sugi Namiki (“Cedar Avenue” with towering 400-year-old cedar trees, a recreation of the Old Tokaido Highway of the Edo period). The weather was sunny with a nice cool breeze, so we crossed over to the other side of the road for a nice long promenade and more picture taking in Onshi Park, with Yuji graciously snapping excellent photos after photos of the 4 of us with our iPhones and DSLR. Then we ambled down the bank of Lake Ashi for great views of the lake toward our last stop, Hakone Sekisho, a recreation of one of the old Edo Era security checkpoints which collected taxes and inspected travelers. Yuji then took us back to our Hakone hotel. We invited Yuji to join us for dinner, but he graciously declined as he had a long return trip to Yamanashi and an overseas relative waiting at home. Being the nice and thoughtful guy that he is, Yuji checked with us and the hotel front desk to make sure our check-in were all in order before leaving. Like our Mt Fuji & 5 Lakes day trip of yesterday, our Hakone day tour with Yuji today was FANTASTIC ! We were extremely pleased with Yuji as a tour guide: · From the 1st contact when he took good notes of our likes and dislikes, and crafted a customized itinerary for our group · His fast and thorough responses, good advice on JR passes, and making a reservation for us on the bus from Mishima to Lake Kawaguchi · His flawless English and polite, easygoing, friendly & pleasant demeanor · His very-evident tour guide experiences, expertise in Japan culture, geography and history, and great common sense · His quickly sizing up our group of 4 and knowing our quirks and idiosyncrasies in the first 2 hours, and his flexibility and patience to adjust his touring style to us rather than force us to adapt to him · His safe, efficient, comfortable and very punctual transport logistics that made travels easy on us for both days · His complete fulfillment of the long itineraries of both days in their allotted time frames, despite our group’s penchant for wanderings and picture-takings 😉 · His thoughtfulness and attention to details · His making both day trips such pleasant, enriching and fun-filled experiences that made us feel like we were traveling with a good friend rather than with a tour guide We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Yuji, WITHOUT ANY RESERVATION, to anyone looking for an excellent tour guide for the Mt Fuji, Fuji 5 Lakes and Hakone areas ! “ Hakone day trip ”

We had a wonderful day with Yuji. We started by going to see Mount Fuji. (we were extremely lucky - since it disappeared 30 minutes after we got to see it) and then we navigated across Hakone . We ended up our day in the Open Air Museum which was perfect. Yuji is very knowledgeable and was very attentive to us and our teenagers daughters. We had a good mixed of history and Japanese culture instruction. Definitely recommend him if you are in Hakone. We could not have covered so much in one day. Thanks a lot Yuji

“ Fuji Area Experience ”

Yuji was a wonderful guide from the beginning. He is great communicating through email and understanding what you would like to do and see. We had a wonderful time exploring the Fuji area with him. We even went to the sea of trees which I recommend and he took us to the most amazing lunch location for a local type of noodle dish. If you can book an excursion with Yuji I recommend you do.

“ fantastic guide ”

Yuji is a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the geology of Mt Fuji and could explain how the local area formed. He worked with us around our schedule as we had our children with us. He took us to Churieta, Sea of Trees (aokigahara), saiko bat cave, wind cave, and showed us plenty of views of Fuji. He picked us up from the bus station and brought us back there, making sure we caught our bus back to Tokyo. The saiko bat cave is a “must see” and we’re so happy we had a guide to follow as we may have turned back if we were on our own. The low ceiling height would have intimidated us but we knew we were in good hands with Yuji. Highly recommend his tour.
