The main criteria registered as World heritage are as follows.

1. Tomioka Silk Mill had contributed a lot to the silk industry in the world. The high quality of raw silk and the silk warm breeding technology had spread over the world and contributed the world wide silk industry expansion. The plant was the largest size of silk plant at the time-flame which is 140 meter length,12 meter breadth and 12 meter hight. Followings are key technology applied.

a) Fairly large scale of silk stock space was required for the silk stock building. Due to establishment of this large scale space, this plant had survived for
around 110 years from 1872 to 1987. All the space inside this plant silk produced required the construction without pillars. To achieve the subject,
the new construction method imported from France was applied.
b) This silk production need huge volume of water stocked. Therefore, large size of tank which can stock water of 400 liter was manufactured using iron.
This is the beginning of iron usage for modernized industry.
c) The wall of plant building is made by red brick and that of roof is by Japanese tile. This style is combination of western and Japanese construction method
which is called timber frame brick construction. This construction load the weight of the building to pillars and beams. To achieve reliable tolerance of this building,
all kinds of materials are quickly prepared from the local area of Gunma and executed many trials for those.

3. The labor environment in Tomioka Silk Mill was good condition for female that was rare case in the world that is one of the criteria selected as World heritage.
Seven days working system with one day off on Sunday and 8 hours working time per day and 10 days vacation for each summer and New year’s were applied as t
he female working condition which was introduced from France. The fee of foods and boarding were paid by the plant.
As shown above, Tomioka Silk Mill is not the tour spot that provide beautiful landscape, brilliant & gorgeous architecture and easy understanding traditional history. However, this show very important value of historical and technical view points and after you understand the value, you will be very much impressed for this Tomioka Silk Mill.

“ 3 wonderful days in Japan ”

1 day at Hakone 1 day at Kamakura 1 day at Tokyo came to Japan with business partners and families. had great time with Mr.Kashima. thank you very much for the guide and all kinds of cordinations. He took great care of us with ages varies from 20's to 80's....

Thank you very much for your warm and kind comments to me. I am very much pleased that you and your family and your business partner took a lot of effort to visit each tour spot under very hot whether condition and enjoyed a lot there even such a tough condition. 1st day of Kamakura tour, Tsuruoka-Hachiman Shrine, Kenchoji & Enkakuji of Zen temple, Great Buddha, Hase temple and Yuigahama sea side view watching. 2nd day of Hakone tour, you enjoyed Ropeway to see Hakone mountain and large cruise riding on lake-Ashi. Also, you visited Owakudani, Hakone Shrine and Goda park. Fortunately, in Hakone Shrine near Seaside Torii gate which is the best photo spot in Hakone, Annually Shinto ceremony had been held when we visited and you could experience a dignified ceremony and a young Shinto priest water skiing on the lake. 3rd day of Tokyo tour, you visited Asakusa and took riding on Tokyo cruise to Odaiba where you enjoyed various type of shopping and saw Liberty of freedom near Odaiba seaside. I heard from the people joined this tour that your country has same kind of religious ceremony and they Sincerely prayed their hope to Japan Shinto god according to the formal procedure. Thank you for understanding Japanese culture. I am looking forward to meeting with you again for your next trip to Japan. Thanks, Kashima

“ Kashima san made this a special day! ”

Kashima san and I toured Kamakura and from beginning to the end he was the perfect guide. He was prepared for a great day - even printing out a notebook for me providing history and details about our sites which was very appreciated. He was also very fun with great since of humor —excellent company for a single tourist. Thank you for making this such a memorable day!

Steve san, Thank you very much for your kind and great comments for me. And I am very much appreciated that you took a little risk to go Kamakura tour under the condition of typhoon approaching to Kanto erea on the day. Fortunately, without heavy rain and wind condition, we could visit the target spots of Tsuruoka Hachiman shrine, Great Buddha, Hase temple, Hokokuji temple and good lunch on Komachi street. I think that you already got well knowledge of Shinto and Buddhism such as Nyorai, Kannon, Jizou, Zen Buddhism ,Samurai spirit and the difference between Shinto and Buddhism thanks to your strong curiosity. I am looking forward to receiving your next guide request again for you and your family. Thanks, Kashima

“ All around guide ”

We like Hideo San We see him again today

Allen san, Thank you very much for sending a grateful message and selecting me as a guide for your 5days tour with your family on Tokyo and Tokyo surroundings. I am very pleased to notice that this tour is mainly for you two cute granddaughters. On the first day of Tokyo tour, your kids enjoyed very much for Tsukiji, Ginza with lunch and Harajytuku, specially by roaming around Takeshita-street seeing various exhibits in the shops ,shopping and food tasting. I am surprised that you requested me to change an original itinerary to visit again to Takeshita-street and Harajyuku KAWAII monster café on the 4th day tour in Tokyo. I learned how young girls like those. On the second day of Kyoto one day tour, I appreciate that you and your family endured the Shinkansen time schedule trouble caused by a landslide due to heavy rain occurred near Kobe. However, I am pleased that you all enjoyed Shiraminejingu-shrine with rabbits as messengers, Nishiki-market to do sightseeing and shopping, Gion street and Fushimi inari shrine by using a Van service. Today, we will visit Kamakura and I hope you all will enjoy again. Thnks, Kashima

“ The best guide ever hired! ”

About Nikko----- Kashima took us to places that other guide won’t take us to. Such as doing Koyoto in one day or Nikko in one day. Kashima made it happen. We couldn’t stop talking about these places he took us too because of how much fun we had. And he made it easy. He had everything set up ahead of time everything right on time we felt stress free enjoying our time and creating memories. And not to mention his sense of humor he kept us laughing the whole time. He’s kind, caring full of energy. What a blast! We can’t wait to go back to Japan and hire Kashima again. The best of the best! Believe me u won’t regret it. About Kyoto----- You are very welcome Kashima u made my grad daughter so happy where she wants to go back to Japan and hire u again so u can take us to more fun places. I can’t thank u enough.

Rania san, Thank you' very much for your review for me and I feel honored very much. Thanks to your positive request of tour spots such as Akechidaira Ropeway, monkey gundan show, Edo wonderland in Nikko and red face monkey park in Kyoto, which I believe came from your very cute grand daughter, I could manage to support you for the excellent tour. I am very pleased and can not forget that your granddaughter excited too much for the each spots, specially Ropeway and playing with monkeys. Thanks to the tour with you, I have learned a lot for me to execute how to coordinate a tour better. I am looking forward to meeting you and your granddaughter again as your guide in Japan in near future. Thanks, Kashima
