First. In Matsuyama Castle, you can actually feel the strategy of the traditional Japanese castles by walking up to the castle keep. From the top of the keep, you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of Matsuyama City, the Seto Inland Sea, and the Shikoku mountains.
Second. In Ishite-ji Temple, you can experience the atmosphere as if you were a pilgrim of the 88 temples of Shikou Pilgrimage. There, you may see some real pilgrims wearing white costumes with sedge hats on, and carrying pilgrim sticks.
Third. Dogo Onsen Honkan(main building), is now undergoing reinforcement work against a big earthquake. But, half of it is open. You can heal your tired body feeling the long history. In addition, Dogo Onsen Annex Asuka-no-yu will weccome you. It has mixed well modern Japanese architecture with this region's traditional handicrafts and the latest art.
Fourth. For lunch, you can try rich local cuisine, including raw sea bream wiht rice, boiled sea bream with rice, fried fish-paste cake, and five colored very thin noodles.
