If you have only a short time to spend in the Nagoya area, why don't you explore Inuyama Castle and its castle town? (If you have more time , there is another tour , Cormorant Fishiing on the Kiso River after strolling around Inuyama Castle and its town). Inuyama city is about 30 minutes away from Nagoya city by train. Inuyama Castle is the oldest castle in Japan(built in 1537) and designated as a national treasure. It stands on a cliff beside the Kiso River and the view from the castle stronhold is magnificent.
Joan is one of the most famous tea houses of the Edo period( built around 1618) and designated as a national treasure. It stands in the Uraku-en, a tranquil Japanese garden. If you want to have Maccha(Japanese powdered tea), your guide will show you how to drink tea here.
The town around Inuyama Castle retains the atmosphere of the Edo period and is still dotted with old tradesmen's houses which have been transformed into coffee shops, restaurants and souvenir shops.
There are a variety of restaurants here and you'll be able to have a relaxing time at one of the restaurants for lunch. You could also enjoy tea or coffee at an old but elegant tea house.
Inuyama Festival dedicated to the god enshrined in the Haritsuna Shrine is held on the first Satuaday and Sunday of Aplil each year. On the day, you will see 13 festival floats, with mechanical puppets on the top stage, marching on the street of Inuyama castle town .
It is designated as a national important intangible folk-culture asset .
On the last Saturday and Sunday of October , there is another festival to see the festival floats on the street as we'll.
In this tour, you can see some of the festival floats in the museum.
Please feel free to ask any questions to the guide .

Excellent, knowledgeable guide. Our hike was one of our highlights of our trip. Pace was just right, stories intriguing.
With Rumiko, we had an excellent walking tour of the old Nagano in Kiso Valley featuring historic residences, museum and towns. Rumiko's commentary and knowledge of the area added much to the experience. We enjoyed our tour with Rumiko and will be booking others through TripleLights in our future travels to Japan.
Rumiko is a very kind and friendly guide. She put real effort in making our tour as smooth as possible, planning every step in advance with care. The cormorant fishing turned out to be amazing, the best experience I've ever had in my travels, and I would recommend it to anyone.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Ms Rumiko. She's very knowledgeable and the tour is very interesting. If only we had more time. Would definitely recommend this tour and if time permits, a full day is good!
