Inuyama Castle was built in the 16th century (Warring States period).
Inuyama Castle is the oldest and original castle in Japan. It stands on a cliff beside the Kiso river. It is designated as a national treasure.
You will walk where samurai walked about 450 years ago and feel what they thought at that time. The view from the top of the castle tower is magnificent.
You also visit Joan . It is a tea ceremony house and designated as a national treasure as well. It is located in Uraku-en, a beautiful Japanese garden. If you want to drink Japanese powdered tea, you can enjoy it here. Your guide will show you how to drink it.
You will stroll around Inuyama castle town .There are many souvenir shops, tea shops and restaurants. It is here for you to have lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go to Meiji-mura (Meiji Village). It is an open -air museum for preserving and exhibiting works of Japanese architecture of the Meiji period (19th century). It is beautifully located on a hillside facing Lake Iruka. There are over sixty Meiji buildings and other structures brought and rebuilt here. Ten of them are designated as National Culture Properties.
As the village is so big, your guide will choose important and interesting buildings and show you around the village efficiently, using the village buses.
There are souvenir shops and restaurants. Your guide will tell you its popular snack of the Meiji period. (don't worry , it is freshly cooked)

Very professional with all sorts of detailed knowledge on the subject areas, historical and cultural, some of which are from her own studies and research. We have greatly enjoyed the three days of tour with Rumiko.
Rumiko is extremely helpful! She provided recommendations on hotels prior to the trip and even help make reservations for bus tickets for our trip to Nagoya! She put in lots of effort to plan for our itinerary as we were towing a 5 year old boy for the trip. She ensured that our two days with her were fun enough for adults and kid - she prepared quizzes and stories about the places of interest to keep our little one engaged throughout the two days. She is very knowledgeable about the history of Gifu and Nagano and Japan in general. Wonderful guide and strongly recommend her for anyone who wishes to have a good guide.
We had a wonderful experience in Nagoya with Rumiko as our guide. She came in very prepared and made sure my kids will enjoy and learn a lot of things about the places we visited. She surely knows how to entertain kids, elderly and us. Overall, she made our tour worthwhile and fun. I will definitely recommend her to my friends and relatives visiting Nagoya.
As I have to work, my wife and 2 boys have Rumiko for 2 days in Nagoya. It was the most wonderful experience to have Rumiko to take you around Nagoya. The boys truely enjoyed themselves and keep talking about it when they are back at the hotel. Rumiko has made a wonderful day for my wife and 2 boys. Deeply appreciate for all arrangement . Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Excellent, knowledgeable guide. Our hike was one of our highlights of our trip. Pace was just right, stories intriguing.
