Only have half a day in Tokyo? Don’t worry, you can see and get what you exactly want in Tokyo in this tour. We will visit Asakusa, the most popular tourist sight in Tokyo, to see the Senso-ji temple and Nakamise-dori shopping street. There are several perfect photo spots, many things to try and eat, and wish for your luck in the authentic Japanese style.
Afterwards, we will visit Kappabashi where you can get all the unique kitchen utensils such as chopsticks, knives and bento boxes, and feel the neat works by the craftsman in the area.
These goods are also very popular as a souvenir for your friends and families.
Also, as an option, you can try the plastic food sample making here, which magically looks real. If you want to try this, please mention to the guide so that they can book the session for you (*the fee for the activity is NOT included in the tour fee).
In Asakusa which is visited by more than half of the overseas tourists, you will encounter Tokyo’s oldest temple Sensoji Temple as well as the Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate), which is the outermost gate of Sensoji Temple as well as the street lined with old-school shops that lead to the inner precincts of the shrine. Many of the stores offer services in English.
Kappabashi is the street located between Ueno and Asakusa with shops dealing in cookware. With over 100 years of history, customers from all over Japan, whether they be amateur cooks or professional chefs, come to the street. And even in recent years, it has become a hit with the overseas tourists as well.

“ Better than any right hand ”
I travelled with my family, and an additional 3 nieces who decided to tag along for the trip to Tokyo. I have planned for a long time, had lots of advise from friends who have visited before, however all this information just made it more confusing. In the last week before our trip, I surmised that I still have no idea what i am going to do, and worried that trip trip will be a complete mess. I decide I need help, so looked up guides in Tokyo. It was our first day in Tokyo, arriving early in the morning into Haneda, spending over an hour looking for the place to pick up my wifi dongle, then finding the counter to purchase our airport transfer to our hotel. It wasn't looking like a very fun hioliday if this keeps up. We get to the hotel and find out we can't check in until the afternoon. Enters Hiroko. We met her an hour after we arrived at the hotel, from that minute, the crease on my forehead started to disappear. She took the reigns and set us off to the fish market in Tsukiji, visited a couple of shrines all before lunch, in a local noodle resturaunt. After lunch we were taken to Harajuku where the girls spent the next couple of hours shopping in the stalls until we bid farewell to Hiroko. Sounds simple enough? The best part of our guided trip. It didn't feel like a guided trip, more like a friend showing us around. She got on famously with all of us, she gave us an insite into Tokyo without it being a lesson, she gave us information on how to get around for other distinations we planned to visit. Before doing this review, I received an email to inform me of other travel method. Talk about going above and beyond. To Hiroko, thanks for a fantastic day! Cheers!

“ Truly unforgettable! ”
We had our 1day tour with Dai last June 19 and it was truly unforgettable! Dai brought us to all the places we requested and showed us everything we wanted to see. He even went out of his way to help us with our shopping! Dai speaks good English. He is very kind, patient and he is good with kids too! It's like having a good friend around and not a tour guide. Our day with Dai made us love Tokyo even more! We would highly recommend Dai to all our friends and relatives who will be coming to Japan! Thank you so much Dai!
Thank you so much for such a great review. I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed my tour. It was very fun to be able to go shopping with you. I was so happy I could share the time with you. Please take good care of yourself. Thanks a million !!!

“ Mayumi's tour was highlight of our Tokyo visit ”
On our second day in Tokyo, we enjoyed a fantastic full day tour with Mayumi. Her professional but warm and bubbly personality immediately put us at ease. Her English and knowledge of various cultures/religions is excellent. She is a high energy person with lots of enthusiasm. Even though she has visited the sights hundreds of times, she seemed to really enjoy each place she took us. We had a few email exchanges before we arrived in Tokyo so she could plan our tour for what we wanted to see most. Much of it was left to her discretion since she is the expert. We either walked or took the subway. She walked at our pace- a middle speed- and reminded us to drink water. It was well-planned for the most efficient use of time. We saw all of the major hightlights including Asakusa, the fish market, a lovely boat ride on the Sumida River to Odaiba and the Hamaryiku Gardens. When we accidentally happened upon both a Buddhist and a Shinto wedding, Mayumi was able to explain it all to us. She also taught us a few words and phrases. We had a great lunch at a popular local tempura cafe. What a perfect day! Thank you, Mayumi! We hope if you ever come to the US, you will let us know so we can see you. If we come back to Japan, we will be sure to find you again. Cheers!
