What to Expect

We start in Asakusa, which is visited by more than half of the overseas tourists. Here you will encounter Tokyo’s oldest temple Sensoji Temple, as well as the Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate), which is the outermost gate of Sensoji Temple as well as the street lined with old-school shops that lead to the inner precincts of the shrine. Many of the stores here offer services in English and you can also get your omikuji in English at the Sensoji Temple temple. Omikuji is a small piece of paper on which one's fortune is written and can be found in many temples and shrines.

After Asakusa, we depart to Akihabara, which is continuously abuzz with tourists from all over the world. Akihabara is a pop culture mecca representing anime and manga and is popular as a tourist sightseeing spot largely due to the concentration of stores specializing in Japanese electronics.

Upon leaving Akihabara we head to Shibuya, the youth mecca Shibuya of Tokyo, which the famous scramble intersection world’s busiest intersection, with 500,000 people crossing it daily. Besides the shopping and cuisine, you can enjoy the unique atmosphere of this neighborhood.

Finally, we finish our tour in Tokyo in one of the most famous shrines in Tokyo, the Meiji Jingu Shrine. Located in the Shibuya district in Tokyo and near Harajuku Station and Yoyogi Park, this shrine attracts the greatest number of visitors from throughout Japan for hatsumode or the first shrine visit of the New Year. If you happen to be lucky enough on the day of your visit, you could catch a glimpse of a traditional wedding ceremony.

“ Practical efficient way to see Japan ”

Excellent tour guide. Punctual, efficient, researched your needs before arriving , provided maps and had literature and pictures to aide her explanations, understood what interests me and took me to those areas of interest. I would never have been able to navigate all those trains so efficiently. Worth the money ! Esp if time is limited you could spend more time navigating around and getting lost on your own ! Excellent English and wonderful interpersonal skills. Would highly recommend. Esp if English is your first language.

“ Terrific guide! ”

Our experience with Dai was outstanding. He is well traveled, flexible, knowledgeable and has excellent English skills. Other than Tsujiki Market we were unsure until that day which other places we would want to visit. It was our last full day in Tokyo and we didn't know what we would have already seen. We discussed it when we got together and planned a great day. Dai accommodated all of our needs and wishes. He even helped us locate our restaurant for dinner so that we could find it on our own that evening. He will go at whatever pace you desire, but if you want someone who can walk quickly, Dai is for you. Highly recommend!

“ Very professional and goes beyond what is expected ”

Even when it wasn't part of her duties, Masako helped me in finding and booking restaurants for my group, which consisted of vegetarians and non-vegetarians. She was always keeping me updated on our itinerary and worked around our schedule. She was very professional. Will definitely book her again for another tour!

“ tsukiji fish market ”

Haruko was friendly and informative. As we walked around the market, she explained the history of the market. We could not have navigated the market; it was like a maze.
