“ A Day in Tokyo ”
My husband and I had an exceptional day visiting which I believe was the eastside of Tokyo with Kahoko. I had mentioned to Kahoko when first arranging the tour of places we might be interested in seeing, but never having been to Tokyo and so many places on our list I told her the 1 must place to go, Tsukiji Market, and let her take it from there. We had a very well versed tour of the market, got to tour the bustling secondary wholesale area with all the carts zipping around, the outer markets and had lunch at an absolutely wonderful standup sushi bar near the market. She took us through Asakusa, Ginza, and Akiharabara. Ginza was not high on my list but having Kahoko guide us through the Kabuki theater, which lead to conversation about Takarazuka, the basement food area of Mitsukoshi Department Store, and a stop at a nice cafe area above the central area of Ginza to have a break and to enjoy the view of the busy Ginza streets from floors above, which we would have never found on our own, provided us with a well-rounded view of Ginza other than just expensive shops. Even more than all the places and insights that Kahoko provided was conversations about life in Tokyo which felt like having a friend take us around for a visit.

“ Best guide we've encountered. ”
A++ Kahoko is one of the best tour guides we have encountered. She guided us for one and a half days in Tokyo and one day in Kamakura on either side of a Riviera Travel tour of central Honshu. Her English is excellent and she went out of her way to make sure we had an enjoyable visit. Each morning she met us in our hotel lobby and returned us to the same spot at the end of the day. She taught us how to use the Tokyo subway ticket machines and then how to navigate the subway system. When entering a train she always hurried ahead to find us seats. Without her help we would have wasted at least half of our time getting from place to place. We were able to fit in all of the items on our bucket list not covered by our commercial tour, and then some of her suggestions. We went to some of her favorite local restaurants for our lunches: a 10 seat sushi restaurant at the Tokyo fish market, a small tempura restaurant in the Yanaka district, and a traditional Japanese restaurant in Kamakura. We would have never found these wonderful little restaurants on our own. Kahoko is very knowledgeable about all things Japanese and is a pleasure to be with. She was more like a personal friend than a tour guide. You will not find a better guide in Tokyo than Kahoko. We highly recommend her. Jon and Susan April 11, 12, 23
Thank you for the sweetest review. You are one of the best guests I've ever had ! I really enjoyed every moment with two of you . I even miss your darling's a little sharp tongue, ha ha. You were always ready to enjoy every aspects of our tree- day tour . That was a great help for me . Also , as you are such a terrific couple of English and American, I was able to learn slight ( ? )difference of two countries' culture ,mindset, way of living and so on. It was so interesting, definitely. Please stay fit and enjoy your trip. Please come back to Japan again, let's go to Miyajima together.

“ One amazing Tokyo day with Yuki ”
We spend one day with Yuki visiting Tokyo station, entrance Imperial palace, Imperial East Garden, Senso-Ji tempel and Skytree. We had an amazing time including an amazing lunch. Yuki has a great knowledge of history and events that formed Tokyo. He explained us the JR train system so we could smoothly travel later to Takayama and also the metro system. He uses his ipad to support his explanation. He is very helpful, very friendly and speaks very good English. Our two daugters expected Yuki again the next day, they missed him already. We will visite Tokyo again and hopefully Yuki has time to join us then!
Dear Alexandra, Thank you for writing your review of my tour. I am very happy to know you and your family enjoyed my tour. It was a nice tour for me, too as you are very interested in my explanations of the history of each sites. We have the Golden Week from April 29th to 27th during when many popular places will be crowded. I would recommed not so crowded places near Tokyo such as Kamakura during these days. It's very kind of you giving me the Dutch waffles and Japanese rice crakers, they are very good. Best regards,Yuki

“ Highly Recommended! ”
I spent a wonderful day with Mayumi. This was my first trip to Tokyo, and I was traveling solo. Because it's such a big city I didn't know where to start. She met me in my hotel lobby, which saved me the stress of finding my way to a meeting place. She helped me buy a subway pass and taught me to how to get around on the very large subway system. That gave me the confidence to explore on my own for the remainder of my trip. Mayumi's English is impeccable, and she was full of knowledge. She shared some great information about the history and local customs of Japan. I experienced a lot of things that I would have missed exploring on my own. For example, at Sensō-ji Temple she showed me how to draw an Omikuji (fortune-telling paper) and how to perform the purification ritual. Because it was a private tour, it was all about me. If I wanted to check out a store, we'd go in. I felt like tempura for lunch, and she took me to a fantastic place known only to the locals (not another gaijin in sight). When I wanted ideas on where to go next she had plenty of suggestions based on my interests. I’ve traveled all over the world, and I refuse to go on those big group tours where you pile onto a bus and are herded around, trying to fight your way to the front of the group so you can hear the guide. I can’t recommend TripleLights and Mayumi enough!
