What to Expect

The best part of Tokyo is that you have some nice and calm places you can relax, right in the middle of the chaotic urban city. Meiji-jingu shrine is one of those places. In this tour, we are first visiting here, where it is mesmerizingly calm and full of earthy scents of the woods, to prepare for the craziness awaiting afterwards. Once you get cooled down, let us lead you to Harajuku, the melting pot of culture. Enjoy the energetic streets full of variously styled people and shops. You can also try the hot-trending sweets such as crepes, popcorns, cotton candies, smoothies, and many more! In the last part of the trip, we are visiting Shibuya, to see that crazy view of scramble crossing with so many people, and the Hachiko the loyal dog statue.

Highlights

Meiji Shrine, located in the Shibuya district in Tokyo, attracts the greatest number of visitors from throughout Japan for hatsumode or the first shrine visit of the New Year. If you happen to be lucky enough on the day of your visit, you could catch a glimpse of a traditional wedding ceremony.

Harajuku’s Takeshita Street has recently been ranked as the most desired place to visit by visitors to Japan. Harajuku continues to broadcast its distinct fashion responsible for the ‘kawaii’ (cute) sub-culture.

The scramble intersection of the youth mecca of Shibuya is the world’s busiest, with 500,000 people crossing it daily. Besides the shopping and cuisine, enjoy the unique atmosphere of this neighborhood

“ Wonderful guide ”

Atsuko arrived on time in our hotel and we went through the whole itinerary, even adjusting it when I wanted to visit a specific store. Atsuko speaks good English, is informative and has a very friendly personality. It was a pleasure spending the day with her and I can certainly recommend her.

“ Great guide ”

Masaharu was a great guide for us for a day and a half in Tokyo. He arranged our itinerary but was extremely flexible with changes, which we made due to bad weather. He also took us to great restaurants for lunch. His English was excellent and my wife thought he was very sweet. I'd recommend him to anyone.

“ For the Best "Hidden Gem" Tour of Tokyo -- Pick Mack! ”

Mack gave us a first class tour of Tokyo. We wanted to avoid the tourist traps. We wanted a "Hidden Gem" tour -- and we got it! Mack took us to some very unusual places. We joined a Buddhist ceremony (drums and all). We wandered through narrow streets in old neighbourhoods of Tokyo surrounded by wooden homes. We had a traditional tea ceremony in one of these homes. And -- we visited some unique artists along the way. Mack's english is very good. He studied in the US -- and has an MBA from Duke University. He was very good at answering our questions. Bottom-line -- Mack is an excellent guide. We highly recommend him.
