Touring with Mayumi was one of the best decisions we made when planning our trip to Japan. She met us at our Airbnb and guided us through traditional customs, tourist spots, history and the railway system all while keeping it interesting. Mayumi was very knowledgable and engaging. We had 4 kids with us (ages 9, 11, 12, 13) and Mayumi seemed to connect with them and make them giggle. We toured 2 days with Mayumi in Tokyo seeing shrines, gardens, Skytree, Tsukiji (outer) Market, Gotokuji Temple, Monster Kawaii Cafe (a highlight for the kids), Pokemon store, Shibuya Crossing, Ginza, Harajuku district and more. She was very relaxed and patient, even with the kids' vending machine and snack obsession. She also had great suggestions for things to do after we parted ways. Mayumi also met us for a day while we stayed in Hakone. We rode all of the transportation in the area (rail, bus, cable car, & pirate ship..the ropeways was closed). We saw great views, walked through the Hakone Cedar avenue, the Hakone Imperial Villa, Lake Ashi. She introduced us to tasty snacks, and we had a wonderful lunch at a lakeside restaurant where we got to eat fried wakasagi fish for lunch (a fish from the lake). It was sad to say goodbye to Mayumi
Thank you so much for posting such a warm and detailed review, Falon. It was a kind of exciting experience for me to find the hidden air bnb. That made me even happier when I finally met you finally. I won't be able to forget the pleasant days we spent together for good. I liked to see your kids trying to eat everything and enjoying Japanese culture. They were polite, and willing to adapt themselves to our culture. We have a saying, "The kids grow up as they were raised." I'm impressed how you are well educating your four children. I do want to see you all someday again. Please say hello to your husband and kids. I loved you all!!
