We spent a day with Kaori in mid June 2019, on the first day of our first visit to Japan. I cannot recommend her highly enough! We were a family group of two young teenagers, their parents and grandmother, and travelling around Tokyo with Kaori was like exploring with a (very knowledgeable) friend we had known for years. Kaori was able to chat with the different members of our party with ease despite our wide range of ages and interests, constantly answering our questions and queries. I found our found our young teens (12 & 13) were much more interested and engaged with the places we visited than if we were to have gone on our own - all too often they are quick to tell us they are bored or tired or have had enough, but we didn't hear that even once during the eight hours of Kaori's tour. Kaori put together an itinerary for our family that was not only interesting and diverse, she helped set us up with information that we used over and over again later in our Japan trip - how to use the number system with the subway, how to respectfully visit a Shinto shrine, and at my request, how to say "excuse me" in Japanese as a couple of examples. We found Kaori very professional in that she anticipated our needs as tourists - I had inadvertently left my portable battery charger at home for example and after a morning of taking photos noticed my phone battery was almost drained - Kaori had a portable charger to lend me, and also helped my husband and I find a store where we could purchase one for the rest of our trip. At the end of the day, Kaori made sure that we all got back to our hotel safely by accompanying us, despite our official tour time having ended. I don't think I have met such a helpful, cheerful, knowledgeable or kind tour guide! There is absolutely no way we could have covered the ground or learned as much as we did in Tokyo if we had not have spent a day with Kaori, it was the best money we spent on our entire vacation and the most valuable experience. I sincerely hope our paths cross with Kaori in the future - if we return to Tokyo, we won't hesitate to book with her again.
Thank you for giving me such an excellent comment on me, Lauren-san. Glad safely arrived home after a long trip. I'm happy to hear you and your family enjoyed the day with me. I enjoyed talking with each of family members all day long. It's really great that your two Kawaii (cute) daughters are learning Japanese language at their schools and are interested in not only Japanese language but also Japanese culture and history. It was also a lot fun to enjoy Origami folding paper on the boat with girls and Nana(grandma!). And I wonder how great it is that your kids' school have exchanging student program and make it possible for kids to communicate with people from different cultures. As a guide, It was a great pleasure to hear you could use knowledge about how to visit shrines and temples during your travel in Japan even after my tour! Arigato gozaimashita (past tense of Arigato gozaimasu) for taking my tour. I'd love to see you and your family again in the future. Matane! (see you again!) Hugs and kisses, Kaori
