From beginning to end, Akira exceeded in every way the expectations my wife and I had for choosing a guide from an online site. His comfortable, relaxed approach belied an in-depth, thoughtful, efficient and thorough knowledge of how best to introduce Tokyo and Japan to us in a much too short 2 days. He listened carefully to our general wishes and wove them into a plan that covered as much as 2 jet lagged tourists could handle. His guidance through public transportation to non-touristy sites, to restaurants with local flavor were all highlighted by his love and familiarity with his city. Clearly, his knowledge of the history and culture of Japan added to our appreciation for all that we were seeing and his gentle sense of humor kept everything in perspective. Our conversations were very much an opportunity to share/contrast our cultures. Akira was authentic in every way, and without his guidance we would have missed much of what Tokyo has to offer. Our highest recommendation is to look no farther, contact him and your expectation will be exceeded as well!
Dear Paul, Thank you so much for the great review. It was enjoyable and thoughtful two days for me, and I am so happy that you felt the same way. We enjoyed beautiful hydrangea and awesome bamboo forest, we had a nice bowl of ramen at old school ramen place, we met warm old couple at the confectionary and good cabdriver who gave us good advice regarding return train to Shinjuku.... And we enjoyed endless conversation about many things. Only negative factor about today's tour, I thought first, was unpleasant weather. However, the rain enhanced the beauty of the beauty of hydrangea and bamboo forest. So, after all, everything went so smoothly and I think I know why. It all because of you and Maria's positive vibes. It was my pleasure to be the first Japanese for you to spend long hour together. I hope you will have a great time for the rest of your trip in Japan. Sincerely, Akira
