We (a family of three with two teenagers) had a great sunny day with Yoko exploring Tokyo's treasures on our first trip to Japan. She met us at our hotel in Tsukiji and showed us the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace and then took us to Yanaka for a traditional macha tea ceremony and a lovely Japanese lunch and more. We learned all about the sakura and lots about the samurai, shogunate and Buddhism as well as about the imperial family and post-war reconstruction of Japan. Yoko is very knowledgeable and speaks good English with an American accent. She has strong opinions and is not afraid to express those.
Thank you for your review, but going to Kyoto without booking your hotel during April sounds extremely challenging. We know it will be difficult to go from Hakone to Mount Fuji is really hard unless you have vehicles. It's a fact. So it might be better to take your time at Hakone. Enjoy the rest of your stay.
