I requested to see the non-tourist sights. We started with a quick elevator ride to the observatory deck at the government building. Yoko and walked 8.5 miles around such classic cultural areas as Shinjuku, Yanaka area, and Kagurazaka area. Shinjuku - Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (45th floor) to see a beautiful view of Tokyo and Mt.Fuji! Omoide Yokocho alley which has a lot of small restaurants, Kabuki-cho, one of the most popular entertainment areas in Tokyo which has a lot of bars, restaurants and Karaoke shop and Godzilla on a top of a tall building. Food hall at Isetan department store. Tokyo station area - viewing Tokyo Station building and Tokyo station area from Marunouchi Building. Having lunch at Ippudo ramen restaurant. Imperial Palace area to see the double bridge and Fushimi Yagura which used to be a turret in the 17th - 19th century (the current one was restored around 1950). Yanaka area (temple town)- Nezu Shrine, Yanaka Ginza shopping street, Sansaki zaka street which has a lot of Buddhist temples, Yanaka Cemetery and Tennoji temple. Kagurazaka area (used to be Geisha district, now the place has a lot of nice, cozy restaurants and cafes) - Kagurazaka Dori street (main street), Geisha Shindo alley, Hyogo Yokocho alley We saw Buddhist shrines and Shinto temples. We ate a great ramen lunch at "the best place for ramen". Yoko was patient with my English and colorful with her descriptions. I would like to come back and have Yoko as my guide. I highly recommend her for being the best guide. ~Jim

Some of the sights are not usual destinations, so I was not sure if they might have met your expectations. The weather was good in the morning, so I'm glad that we saw a beautiful view of Tokyo and Mt.Fuji. And I love your beautiful photo of Mt.Fuji!
