We spend one day with Mika, in and around Takayama. She picked us up at our Ryokan and then we went to the morning market in Takayama, where local farmers and producers told us about their products. My husband and I scheduled two private tours with Mika in Hida-Takayama: a night at a local izakaya to learn about the town’s food culture and a morning tour of two local sake breweries. Junichi picked us up at our hotel right on time. He then drove us to Shirakawago and the scenery was just breath taking. He speaks really good english and explained to us about japanese culture on the way. He has interesting background and speaks many language other than Japanese and English.
