Koji explained the history and highlights of the shrine and the pine forest with the exceptional view of Mt Fuji. The couple we weee with could not climb to some of the sights so Koji explained the significance which painted a picture of the sight for them view more
Words are not enough to express the experience we had in Shizuoka with Setsuko. She is so knowledgeable and proud of her community and culture and wants everyone to feel her enthusiasm. She arranged a traditional Japanese lunch which was above and beyond our expectations. She showed us sights (double blossom cherry trees) that were not scheduled on our itinerary, but were places that were her favorites and became ours, too. She kept our diverse group of eight entertained throughout the tour.... view more
We were meet at the pier by Koji. Easy to find and on time. We had booked a day tour online. Very easy to get in contact whit Koji and fast reply. We drove to the waterfalls, it is beautiful. Koji was informing underway in the car and talked about the sights we visited. Great stop at a sake brewery and the best, a stop at a the farm. It was a great day and we would book Koji again if we have the opportunity. view more

I had booked this 4 hour tour for when our ship docked in Shimizu for the day. Koji was waiting for us when we disembarked. We had a marvellous day visiting Kunozan Toshogu Shrine, Mt Fuji Observatory, a green tea plantation and Miho Pine Grove. One of our group was 90 yrs old and Koji was very considerate of her needs. His English was excellent. At the end of our tour he offered good recommendations for what we could do/ see for the remainder of our time in Shimizu. He was a great guide ... view more
Have clear what interests you, and Yasuko will work out a route for you. We visited a really nice sake brewery that is a must if you go in that direction, and despite the cloud covering Mt Fuji, we really enjoyed the day with her - and she gave us some really nice photos of our ship arriving in Shimizu with Fuji-san in the background! view more
If you are visiting Shimizu and want to book a private tour, this is the one for you. Koji is a very professional guide with good knowledge of the local area. He speaks English quite well. He met us at the cruise ship pier and drove up in his personal auto. We visited all of the sights on the itinerary, spending the amount of time we wanted. Some very unique experiences---Mt Fugi viewing, pine grove forest/beach, tea tasting fresh from tea field, cable car ride and famous shrine visit, plus... view more

We had a fantastic visit toShimizu, thanks entirely to our wonderful guide. Thanks again view more
This is a new tour Koji has produced, focussed especially on cruise ship passengers on shore excursions from Shimizu. Its main advantage is its flexibility, since the fickle weather makes planning rigidly in advance somewhat risky. Within reason, Koji will tweak the tour to fit the weather. Also, he takes you with his car to the sites, thus beating the big groups to what are essentially small sites, thus enhancing their charm. Koji himself is very pleasant and personable. Notwithstanding the hor... view more
We spent a wonderful day with Hiroyo tea sight seeing in Shizuoka. Even though the tour was in December we still had much fun visiting the World Tea Museum and a local tea factory. Hiroyo has excellent knowledge about tea and Shizuoka, and she is a great communicator so it really made for a wonderful tour! view more
Hiroyo-san was very helpful and patient, responding in a timely manner to all my questions as I was trying to decide which tour to take. During the tour, she also explained the history of the places we visited using helpful aids (such as illustrations). She was also very entertaining. Last but not least, she was very flexible in accommodating my mom's request for additional stop at the end of our tour. view more
