My wife and I and our friends were on a Viking cruise and stopped at the port of Shimizu. Fortunately for us the cruise ship was staying overnight in Shimizu and we were able to book an eight hour tour. Fumie met us at the cruise port at 9 AM. Fumie had arranged for a private car and driver for the four of us to visit a tea plantation, have a delicious lunch in a "farm to table" restaurant, go to the World Heritage site and museum of Mt. Fuji, visit the waterfalls by Mt. Fuji and taste sak... view more
We had a wonderful day in Shimizu with Chinami. She is very friendly, knowledgeable and engaged. She gave us great background, historical and cultural information as she guided us through the sites. She made use of public and private transportation to maximize our experience and was very flexible as our priorities changed. She took us to the fish market area for some local delicacies. We give her our highest recommendation. view more
Although yasuko was a great guide we spent far much time travelling and very little time at the 2 sights we visited view more
We had a wonderful tour. Koji was an excellent tour guide, and we had a most enjoyable day. Unfortunately, it was cloudy, so we did not see Mt Fuji. Nevertheless both Koji and his driver made sure that we had an enjoyable time, making sure that we saw all we wanted to see. Thank you for a lovely day. view more
Koji kept in constant touch with me once we agreed to hire him. The issue, of course, was the best time to see Mt Fuji. As it happened we had a most glorious day. We were a group of 5 with varying physical limitations. Koji adapted to and kept watch over us and was so very knowledgeable about what we were viewing I feel so very fortunate to have selected Koji as our guide. 5 stars +++ view more
What a special experience in Shimizu area with Yumiko as our guide. She was in constant communications leading up to our time together and suggested a wonderful itinerary for our family. On the long rides to and from the port she shared information about the area and went above and beyond entertaining us with origami and teaching Japanese phrases. She took us to a wonderful authentic marketplace for lunch that all the locals were enjoying their Sunday lunch at it was delicious and a cultural tre... view more
Koji adjusted our tour during the cruise stop in Shimizu to take into account my disability. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful; we couldn't find a better guide. Everything was very well planned. view more
Motoyuki is fantastic. It was a great tour but even more important was he went way out of his way to help us. I was with my elderly mother and he went to a lot of effort beyond what could be expected to help make things easier on her. I have stayed at some very high end resorts and the customer service from Motoyuki was even better. He is not only a good tour guide but such a calm and caring man. Looking forward to seeing him again next time I am in the area. view more
We booked a 33 seater bus to get us from our hotel in Tokyo to our hotel on Lake Kawaguchiko. This worked out to be the most effective way to get from Tokyo to Japan countryside without having to change two different buses and trains and then having to get 3 kms to our hotel by taxi. The driver was very friendly and funny and provided some great information as we travelled. view more
Hiroyo was very knowledgeable of sites and history of the areas we visited as well as other areas we were in which we were interested. view more
Lovely personality, great flexibility with the group and constant contact with everyone. Very good English, easy to understand. Very good itinerary, and she picked a great lunch place. Mt. Fuji Center and the special shrine we visited were fascinating. Would definitely use her again!! view more
Hiroyo is a wonderful guide. She took the effort to familiarise herself with the farm which we suggested to visit by getting in contact with the owner and later preparing factsheets for us so that our cultural immersion is complete. In addition, Hiroyo checked to see that we have driven in mountainous areas before & asked us to consider insurance cover for our rental car in case of accidents. Hiroyo was very well prepared, she taught us a tea harvesting song and some origami + had origami gifts... view more
