Due to our limited time and in the evening, hiring a tour guide (Mari) was our best choice to get the most out of our short stay. Mari was friendly, professional, and well versed in the history of Narita and Japan in General. Mari assisted/guided in storing our luggage, transit and check-in at our hotel even before our tour started. Once we began, we walked through Narita and stopped by many places en route to the Naritasan Shinshoji Temple. On our way back to the hotel, she made mention of popu... view more

I absolutely enjoyed my tour with Toshihiro. He developed an itinerary to match my interest with history and animals (Hachiko). Since this was my first visit to Japan, Toshihiro met me at my hotel. We used the train/subway to travel around Tokyo. He took me to the old part of the city and explained about the temple and the gods and the shoguns. We also visited Shibuya for the Hachiko statue and the "crazy crossing." We had a wonderful lunch, Shabu Shabu, and then visited two Hard Rock Cafe... view more

Mari helped me make the most of my layover, very efficiently introducing me to Japanese culture. In just four hours, she introduced me to Japanese pastries, we toured a gorgeous temple and grounds, attended a tea ceremony, visited a shrine, strolled the very quaint and historic town of Narita, shopped for personalized chopsticks and other crafts, and ate delicious ramen. Throughout, Mari provided history and context for the many Japanese traditions we witnessed. This was by far the best ever... view more
Our experience with Hiroki was simply amazing. He is very knowledgeable about history of the area and patiently and clearly answered all our questions. But most importantly, he is extremely courteous, considerate, prompt and resourceful (we were traveling w/ of 2.5 year old who was a bit riotous at times:-) partly due to jetlag and travel -- but Hiroki was simple amazing in helping us throughout our tour, which involved a lot of walking). Would any day recommend his services to make your trip a... view more

It was such a wonderful and memorable day spent with Hirokisan. Hirokisan is a fountain of knowledge, not just about samurais, but Japanese history in general. He taught us SO MUCH, from cemeteries to katanas to samurais to dry moats to the Jomon period, and everything in between. Hirokisan made our last day in Japan very special and he is a consummate professional from beginning to end. You have to book this tour, it is unforgettable. Hirokisan, we thank you so much!!! view more
