We are a family of three, and we enjoyed two great days with Takatoshi in Nara and Kyoto. In Nara, we were impressed by the Horyuji temple complex, Todaiji temple and the Great Buddha, as well as the Kasuga grand shrine - and we finished the day with a walk through the old town area and a Sake tasting experience. The next day in Kyoto, we visited Nijo castle, the Golden Pavilion (Kinkakuji temple), Ryoanji temple, as well as Arashiyama with the Tenryuji temple and the bamboo forest. Takatoshi has deep knowledge of Japanese culture, history, religion, and everyday life, and his English is excellent. He is friendly and patient, and he planned the tours according to our interests. Despite the crowds (during cherry blossom season), he found tranquil spots and readily adjusted to our pace. For lunch, Takatoshi suggested typical and authentic restaurants with excellent food choices. We had two wonderful days, which were definitely a highlight of our vacation in Japan. We highly recommend Takatoshi.
Dear Dietmar san, Thank you very much for your best positive review for my two days tour. I really appreciate your kind understanding to my broken English such Germanglish and Japanglish. Though the climate was not so nice and cherry trees are not in full blossom, we have spent a wonderful time with you and your family. There is a sentence of tea ceremony related to Zen Buddhism that Each moment is always once-in-a- lifetime, therefore treasure every encounter with others. This is also my concept when I guide someone. Hopefully, I will see you all or even one of you, Dietmar san, Josi san, and Sarah san, on anyplace on this earth again. Sincerely yours, Takatoshi
