It was really a very good tour with Masaki. So much wealth of knowledge and my kids appreciated each story he has to tell regarding the site we have been to. Masaki really took care of us...making sure we are all ok in each train ride and very mindful of our needs. He even helped us in ordering food😊. We will never forget Masaki...we will recommend him to our friends and definitely come back to Japan. view more
Despite the rain on our visit, Masaki was able to make our trip to Kyoto a very unique experience. On day one we toured 6 beautiful temples by taxi. On the second day we ventured by train down to Nara to experience 2 additional temples, the national park and enjoy delicious noodles. On day 3, he took us on a beautiful walking tour of the river to see the Cherry Laurels turning, followed by a coffee and dessert. His historical background was a terrific asset and provided us a deeper understanding... view more

Makoto is a fantastic guide. He was funny, energetic, interesting, and spoke great English (he lived in the US for 10+ years.) We had so much fun on his tour. Makoto (actually, he goes by “Mac”) lives in Nara so he knows the area inside out. We saw so many beautiful temples and gardens that I would have completely missed if I just walked around with a Lonely Planet book. We fed the deer, marvelled at beautiful samurai swords and gigantic ceremonial drums, and even saw the piano that Einstei... view more
We had a wonderful walking tour of Nara during our recent cruise of Japan. Masaki is a fantastic guide. He was so helpful and patient, sending us explicit instructions on how to take the train from Kobe--complete with pictures. Nara is beautiful, and Masaki was very informative, answering our many questions. He took us to a wonderful little restaurant for an authentic Japanese lunch. I had also asked if he could recommend a restaurant in Kobe where we could get Kobe beef, and he actually went th... view more
We had a very enjoyable half day Nara city tour with Akira. He was prompt in meeting us and gave us excellent instructions on how to get from Kobe to Nara. We got to see all the best things in Nara on our short visit and would recommend Akira to others thinking about a private guide view more
Mike was a very good tour guide. He had a lot of information to share with us about Nara. He was very pleasant to spend the day with.Nara Park had hundreds of deer walking around and that was very interesting to see them going up to people who would then feed them. There was a lot of walking on our tour but we did not want to miss anything of interest. Mike controlled our pace and made the trip very interesting. view more
Let me just start by saying - Masaki is amazing!! My husband, son, and I spent two days with Masaki - one in Nara and the other in and around Hiroshima. It truly was a once in a lifetime experience. All made possible by Masaki! He took us to places that we would never have found on our own and we learned so much about Japanese culture. Masaki is fun, funny, interesting and probably the best guide that we've ever had. We wish that we could have taken him on the rest of our trip with us. Maybe nex... view more
We had the good fortune to connect with Yoshi. He was warm, friendly and truly engaged in tailoring our experience to what we were interested in. His English skills were superb. His knowledge extensive and he has a passion to learn more. Definitely a good choice. view more
we enjoyed our day with Masaki. He was willing to fit in all the sites we wanted to see in both Nara and Kyoto in one day. Our arrival time changed and he adjusted and helped us work out train schedules to meet him in Nara. He gave us details of each site and shared a lot of history and information of Buddhism. He is a happy and very pleasant guide to spend a day with. He knew all the transportation details to traveling quickly. We highly recommend him. view more
We had an A-1 experience with Yoshi. He met us at the Nara station and immediately began the tour. We visited the agreed sites, Todaiji temple, Iesuyen Garden and the Nara Deer Park (easily the highlight for my family!) But he also went out of his way in explaining the various elements of the temples we visited and took us around the old Nara town and marketplace. What I especially enjoyed was our trip to a sake store for sake tasting, but as he found out we were enjoying, offered to even... view more
