Takatoshi san, the licensed Guide at Nara took us around Nara. His experience and knowledge about this ancient capital of Japan elevates our understanding of this land that was the center of administration during the Asuka period. The Land of the Rising Sun unfolds several wonders at once. The Deer Park, famous Todaiji Temple dedicated to Lord Buddha, Shinto shrines that primarily believe in nature worship and rugged stone lanterns radiate history, faith and Takatoshi san gently shared with us t... view more
My family of four met Makoto at the train station, and we started our day in Nara. He took us to all the must see spots, explained some of the history, and we had an enjoyable day. Makoto was very helpful with which train to take, and my adult children really enjoyed the origami at the end of our day. Thank you Makoto! view more

Takehito san was absolutely great. He is a very caring energetic person. We traveled some very narrow twisting mountain roads and felt very safe in his van and with his driving. Once having arrived in our destination, which was a small mountain village, Takehito san was able to fulfill the goals of my trip to Japan. He found someone who remembered my ancestors, found the family grave site and ancestral home. It was a very emotional time for us. We also found a possible relative we did not know e... view more
Yumiko is beyond your typical local guide. She went out of the way for us and took such good care of us that we became friends instantly. She was extraordinary from the very beginning. I reached out to her by email and she was quick and responsive immediately. She took the time to paint the perfect itinerary for us in Kyoto, Nara and Osaka. She also provided estimated costs for us so we knew exactly what to expect. She was more than amazing! My kids both loved her so much, and they’re not... view more
My husband and I enjoyed the two days we spent with "Hiro." Hiro was very efficient, and showed us so many amazing places all around Kyoto and Nara. We covered more ground than we did with any other guide on our trip. We loved that Hiro carried his DSLR camera around - he took pictures for us and has promised to email them. For the price, you cannot go wrong with booking Hiro. He was very enjoyable to be around and knowledgeable about the sites he showed us. Thanks Hiro!!!! view more
We had a great time with Kazuhiko in the Nara region and Deer Park. Toichi made our first trip to Osaka a very memorable and special one. He went out of the way to ensure we got to see the sights the best way possible and peppered the journey with elements of Japanese culture and history. He was also very thoughtful trying to look out for lifts and escalators when my knee started giving problems. He customised everything from the route, sights right up to the lunch to meet our needs and was upbeat and full of energy throughout. We are grateful to have picked T... view more
