I spent a wonderful morning learning how to make sushi, gyoza and miso soup in Moka’s home. Moka’s friendly personality made me feel very comfortable, and her home was welcoming and very organised. Moka had prepared copies of the recipes (with easy to follow photos), and explained the reason why all of the ingredients are used in Japanese cooking. What a fantastic surprise of a tour! Our immigration into nagoya took longer than expected and we were an hour late but Hiroyuki graciously waited for us a took us on a tour of Nagoya castle, tv tower and took us on a food tour! If you can choose Michiko as your Nagoya tour, do it! Ahead of our meeting, I told her that we wanted to learn about Japanese history and culture and she delivered!!!! She did advance research and came with a short, and interesting, history lesson that helped us clueless Americans tremendously. Our family of 12 enjoyed our tour with Hiro. Hiro was helpful in assisting us find the transportation and driver we needed for our big family. We are great full for the wheelchairs we used in Kyoto for our elderly parents. Wished we had more time to spend in Arashiyama. Good excuse to go back to Kyoto. view more
