Lisa is an excellent tour guide. Her English is fluent, both in writing and speaking. Her approach was very professional and organised. Before the day, we discussed various options for what to see in Kyoto. We gave her a long list of places we wanted to visit, and she was very pragmatic about how many we'd be able to fit into one day, in particular focusing on seeing the sights rather than spending hours on public transport! In fact, one or two places she said that we wouldn't get much benefit from having a tour guide as there is an English audio guide. On the day, she met up with us at our accommodation, clipboard at the ready! She provided us great insight into the history and culture of the temples, shrines, pagodas, and all that we visited. We could ask her any questions, including what were the best shops in Kyoto! She also gave us information about visiting other places the next day in our own time (Arishiyama and Kinkakuji). Finally, she went "above and beyond" by recommending and then leading us to a restaurant for dinner, even though the tour was officially over. Thank you for a memorable day! If we return to Japan, we wouldn't hesitate to have her as our tour guide again.
