Katsuko met us right outside our apartment and took us around a few temples in the Kyoto area. She communicated well and was very knowledgeable and thorough. She made sure that we were comfortable and guided us to coffee and lunch spots. We would have booked her for another day but she was already booked. We had a fabulous time in Kyoto and would highly recommend her . view more
He invited us to be patient and take our time understanding what we were seeing! As Americans we tend to rush into our day (even on vacation) and try to cover as much as possible we can. This experience was different, looking back, we got a lot more out of our tour and time with him than expected! He was also very flexible with his time and what we wanted to do while in Kyoto! view more
Thanks to Mr. Mitsuyuki, our family had a wonderful and memorable time at Kyoto. He was very knowledgeable with historical and cultural background of each site we visited. Excellent English proficiency and best driver as well. view more

Toshiyo is wonderful!! A very intelligent and considerate person who truly made our trip to Kyoto so special and insightful! She met us at our hotel in the morning and we did an all day tour with her that involved 4 different temples/shrines. She provided fantastic knowledge about each site throughout the tour and helped navigate the city so we could really see as much as possible in the amount of time we had without losing out on quality. We would highly recommend her and the TripleLights compa... view more
We liked him! He came on time and very patient to us especially to my 3 yr old son. We took a lot of pictures all the time, but he sees to it that we still manage the time to visit more places. He always managed to look for us! What also made him excellent is that he was so concerned about my son because we need to look for a nebulizer machine during the tour. Two thumbs up for Sir Akira! view more
Thank you Mana for an incredible two days. What we covered in that time would have taken us at least a week to see if we were by ourselves, time we didn't have since we were only in Kyoto for four days. Your command of the public transport system in all forms was amazing. (I had no idea Randen existed). Thank you for walking up Mt Inari with us, the kimonos, the tea ceremony and textiles and for also including the suprise stop at the station near the sake brewery. I could keep going with t... view more
He may need to improve more on the directions for our itinerary but overall we know he did his very best. Thank you Kazu for a wonderfull trip. ☺️ view more
Mitsuyuki is a mature guide with fairly good working knowledge of English. Punctual in picking us up from our hotel, the guided tour came with his own personally driven car. Flexible and was generous in offering travel suggestions. We paid for parking, lunch and admission fees as stated on the website. Mitsuyuki was also culturally sensitive to our food preferences and did his due diligence when he selected the appropriate place to take us for lunch. All in all, a day and money well-spent guide... view more
We had only a day and a half to see Kyoto and Makoon did a great job of selecting sites that were interesting to our whole family, including our 7 year old. Highlights of our tour included Monkey Mountain, the Bamboo Forest, Shogun mound and my personal favorite Fushimi Inari Shine. Makoon is very knowledgeable of the history of Kyoto and the sites we visited, his insights made our experience more memorable than if we'd just visited the sites on our own. He also brought along his camera an... view more
I am an experienced world traveler who often hires local guides to introduce a city or geographic attraction with which I am unfamiliar. Having never visited the Osaka region in Japan I searched for guide options and selected Mitsuyuki based on reviews from other travelers. I was not disappointed. Mitsu-san not only has a great deal of experience, but an excellent command of English and a warm personality. If you are seeking a guide for Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, or adjacent areas, I strongly recom... view more
