Mr. Goto was a wonderful guide. Very sweet, knowledgeable, efficient (he can zip everyone on & off trains, which saved us so much time), and flexible. He had planned the day for us in Kyoto, but if we wanted to make any changes it was no problem. We were traveling with two teenage sons. He speaks English very well. It was very hot the day we were with him so he made sure that we had some time inside to cool off. Would definitely recommend him. Thank you to your wife for the origami that you gave... view more
We are a family of 4, with 2 teenagers on our first trip to Japan. Keiko was our guide in Kyoto for 2 days, hoping to see as much as we can. And we did! She met us at our hotel and our tour began. Over two days we saw the Ryoanji Temple, Kinkakuji Temple, Arashiyama area with Tenryuji Temple and Bamboo forest, Nijo Castle, Fushimi Inari Shrine, Nishiki Food Market and Gion area, including a tea ceremony experience. With each site/area, she was very helpful in explaining the history behind each p... view more
Goto (his preferred name) was a great guide in Kyoto for two days. He was very knowledgeable and when he wasn't sure of any answers he looked them up overnight for the next day. He was flexible and pleasant to be with. His English is 90% but we had fun learning from each other. view more

Mitsuyuki was our tour guide for sites near Kyoto. We used his services for two days (Day 1: Arashiyama, Kinkaku-ji, and Fushimi Inari Shrine; Day 2: Nara). It was great to travel by car to these locations and thus had a lot of flexibility with the tours to add more or less time at different sites. He was knowledgeable of the areas we visited and spoke very good English. view more
Our family recently visited Kyoto with Keiko as a guide for two of the three days we were there. We can't imagine having navigated Kyoto without her! She is an excellent tour guide. Keiko is professional, knowledgeable, patient, and considerate. She was flexible when we changed plans and frequently adjusted the pace to fit us. She answered our many questions about Japanese culture; she has a good command of English so communication was easy. She did her utmost to guarantee we had a good experien... view more
Makoon was an exceptionally good guide for me and my family in Kyoto. I'm a pretty critical person but Makoon gave us a five-star experience. Some of the best things were: his email communication before the trip, his excellent English and North American accent, the way he encouraged and connected with my entire family, including my tween/teen kids, and his flexibility. Further to all of that, you could tell that he is really a genuinely great human being, and touring with him was a true win-w... view more
