We originally booked Eiko for 3 days but she unfortunately got sick and wasn’t able to join us at first. However, she made sure TripleLights found us another guide, which was a huge relief. Eiko then took us to Kamakura under less than ideal circumstances — it was cold and rainy. But she was cheerful and upbeat the entire time, and my wife said it was the most enjoyable part of our visit to Japan. (It felt more authentically Japanese than Tokyo.) Eiko brought small gifts for my kids, which was hugely appreciated, and because of the forecast she arranged two activities — a calligraphy class and a tea ceremony — to keep us out of the rain. I very much wanted to see this swordsmith, and she called ahead to make sure the gentleman didn’t leave his workshop before we got there. When we couldn’t find a five-person taxi, she even paid for her own despite our objections. She also seemed to know someone at a lot of the places we visited, so it was like being with a VIP! We’re sad we weren’t able to spend 3 days with Eiko, but grateful that she recovered in time to take us to a hidden gem.
Hi Albert!! Thank you very much for such a wonderful review! It really is!! Yes. I really wanted to show you around Tokyo too but I got flue...sorry about it. But TripleLights' support was very quick and helpful. I was relieved too. When we could finally meet was a day before you left for Taiwan, your next destination. I was so glad to meet all of you. :-) But the weather in Kamakura was very cold and rainning so hard that I needed to change the itinerary. I was not very sure if you liked the places I took you, but now I am so much happy to know that you enjoyed what we did together in Kamakura!! Again, thank you for having me as your Japan guide, and I'm sincerely hoping to see all of you again in the near future!! Thank you Albert!! Eiko
