I am a licenced tour guide in English, covering areas in western Japan. I am involved in guiding fields including culture, politics, economy, and industries. Other than being a tour guide, I teach English at university and am a conference interpreter and a translator.
I am 41-year-old female freelancer in Okayama prefecture in Japan.
After working as a registered nurse in a general hospital in Japan, I stayed in U.S. for 7 months. Then I came back to Japan and started English-related job.
I have worked as an English-Japanese interpreter and translator for about 10 years and started working as an English tour guide after nationally licensed in 2016.
As I have about 10-year career as an interpreter, I have met and accompanied a lot of people from all over the world so far.
I always enjoy working for foreign people with different cultures and thoughts, and would like to make more and more people know and experience beautiful and fantastic Japanese culture and life.
Now I offer my tours in Okayama, Hiroshima, Kagawa, Himeji, Kobe, and Osaka (I am originally from Kansai: Kobe/Osaka/Nara area).
-My traditional tour destinations are: Okayama castle/Korakuen garden, Kurashiki Bikan area (kimono wearing possible), Naoshima/Teshima/Okunoshima/ islands, other islands in Seto Inland Sea, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Bitchu Kokubunji temple/five storied pagoda/Komorizuka burial mound, other burial mounds in Soja city, Kibitsu Shrine, Himeji castle, Kobe city, and Osaka city.
-Experience tours I can offer are: cycling in Naoshima/Teshima/Okunoshima/ islands, cycling along Kibiji cycling path around Soja city: Bitchu Kokubunji temple/five storied pagoda/Komorizuka burial mound/Kibitsu Shrine, peaches/grapes/muscats picking at farms in Okayama (Okayama prefecture produces high quality peaches, grapes and muscats), jeans making and Bizen pottery making in Kojima Jeans street, Bizen pottery making (plus Edo era kimono wearing possible) inside Okayama castle, cherry blossom viewing in Tsuyama castle, etc.
- I will post very private experience activities on Airbnb pretty soon: As my husband is a peach farmer, I will offer: Gyoza/Tempura making in a real farmer's house in Okayama; peach picking and jam/pizza making in a peach farmer's house in Okayama. I would also like to post them on TripleLights if allowed.
Hi, I’m Chizuru Morofuji. Please call me Chizuru. I’m a government licensed guide and I’ve been working as an interpreter guide for seven years in the area of western and southern part of Japan.
I love my job and I enjoy meeting people from various countries. I have an experience to study in the U.S. for two years. During my stay, local people gave me a plenty of help and kindness. Thanks to their help, I was able to finish my study there. Now it’s time to express my appreciation to people who need help.
I love the word “Ichigo-Ichie、（一期一会）”, which means “Treasure every encounter, for it will never recur”. I’m sure, I’ll do my best to make your experience in Japan the most wonderful and enjoyable one.
Let’s have wonderful time with me! I’m looking forward to meeting you soon.
