We just returned from our cruise around Japan. One of the ports of call was Hiroshima And here our guide was Kazumi - very nice, courteous young woman with excellent English who was very accommodative to our needs. She met us in the port We wanted to visit Miyajima Island and Peace Memorial Park during our tour. As my husband has problems walking for extended period of time Kazumi recommended to take a taxi to get faster to the ferry and reduce walking time. When we got to the island we just strolled around Itsukushima Shrine, took pictures and enjoyed the scenery. We wish we could see this shrine during the high tide but that day high tide was available only in the evening. Kazumi was giving us a lot of explanation about this shrine, it's importance and traditions of Shinto Shrines. We even saw a newlywed couple there in traditional kimonos. At the end of our tour in Miyajima we had a great lunch in the small restaurant and tried local food - dipped fried oysters that were delicious. There are a lot of oyster farms around Hiroshima. From Miyajima Island we took another ferry to get to the Peace Memorial Park. Unfortunately at that time the rain started. So we did a shorter walk around memorial places in the Park where Kazumi continued her explanations. Thank you very much Kazumi. We had a wonderful and memorable day with you in Hiroshima .
Thank you for your fantastic review, Tatyana. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed my tour and could finish your cruise and come back safely. It was good that you didn't catch a cold after that rain. I hope Bob is fine as well. Thank you for your maple syrup. My kids love it so much. Thank you again and hope to see you sometime soon. Kazumi
