What to Expect

Want to see Mount Fuji but want to go the easier way? Hakone is your destination. You can both enjoy the fun activities and get a nice view of Mount Fuji. It is rather family-friendly than going to Mount Fuji, as it is easier to access from Tokyo.

In this tour, we cover the highlights of Hakone area. Not only viewing Mount Fuji, but you can also relax in the nature, evidence the natural hot spring emerging at Owakudani valley, and enjoy a lake cruise at Lake Ashi.

Highlights

At The Hakone Open-Air Museum, an outdoor art museum that boasts a vast site covering approximately 70,000 square meters, you can enjoy sculptures from Henry Moore, Marta Pan and others.

A park which has many buildings that have remained as they have been since its opening. The tea ceremony, pottery, glassblowing, sandblasting and many other things can be experienced here.

This is an 1800-meter ropeway which extends from Hakone-en Garden to the peak of Mt. Komagatake. At the peak, you will find Hakone-Mototsumiya Shrine which is said to be the origins for Hakone Shrine and a power spot.

If this is your first time visiting Hakone, sightseeing by pirate ship is a must. For Hakone, as a popular place of note, this will be even more memorable.

This spiritual spot representing Hakone is popular all-year round. Famous as a marriage shrine, many women come to pray there.

“ one day tour to Hakone ”

We booked a tour with Junichiro Kochi on Wed (10/5/17), that included my wife, my daughter, son-in-law, and my two grandsons (ages 13 and 17). totaling 6 persons. Kochi-san was very personable and informative, and his tour was very enjoyable. He explanation of the sites were very thorough and he also entertained us with quizes during our train rides. My whole family enjoyed his tour very much - thank you Kochi-san. Roy Tamashiro

“ Hakone Review ”

Kochi was amazing. He showed us all the sites and made the tour fun by having trivia questions. He tried to make it as fun as possible since it was so cloudy we could not see Mount Fuji. I would definitely recommend him for any tour. Thank you!!!

“ Hakone Tour ”

Yuki was our guide for Hakone (departing from Tokyo by Shinkansan). About half way through the tour we had stormy weather that resulted in the "ropeway" being cancelled. Thank goodness Yuki was there to figure out how to continue on our journey to Lake Ashi by local bus. This would have been very tricky without a knowledgeable guide. We stayed overnight in Hakone while Yuki headed back to the Tokyo area. He made sure that we had instructions on how to proceed to Kyoto on our own the next morning. I would recommend Yuki for his excellent English and his efficient manner.

“ Perfect guide ”

We had a very nice visit to the Odawara/Hakone area made much better with Mori-san (Hideki) as our guide. Quite simply, he is everything you would want - knowledgeable, totally helpful, friendly, energetic and flexible. We like that he will take you off the beaten path, if desired. And . . . his English is excellent, so that we could ask any type of questions of him.
