My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time in Hakone thanks to having Eiko-san as our guide. Since the popular Owakudani Valley and ropeway were off limits to tourists during our stay, Eiko emailed us ahead of time to plan an alternate itinerary that would still allow us to experience all of the great things Hakone had to offer. It was a very tight schedule, but she remained flexible throughout the day and always checked with us before making decisions about what to do next, which we appreciated very much. We even asked her if we could include a specific restaurant in our itinerary; not only did she accommodate our request, but she even called the restaurant and made a reservation for us ahead of time. Eiko also knew that we wanted to catch a glimpse of Mt. Fuji, so even though we weren’t able to get a good view from Lake Ashi due to the clouds, she took us to a different, lesser known location, where we did manage to catch a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji. Additionally, during the train ride on the Hakone-Tozan Railway, she gave us a lot of facts and history about Hakone and Japan, which was very informative and helpful. Throughout the tour, we found Eiko to be very professional, knowledgeable, personable, friendly and engaging. Her English was also top-notch. We would definitely recommend Eiko-san as a guide not just for Hakone, but for any area of Japan (including Kamakura, which she mentioned was one of her specialties). Next time we visit Japan, we’ll definitely try to book Eiko-san as our guide again. Thank you, Eiko, for allowing us to have such a wonderful time!
Hi Sovan! How are you and your girlfriend?! Thank you so much for such a WONDERFUL review!! It brought me a BIG smile. :-) I think I've told you but let me tell you again that you made me very happy on the day of the tour, saying you liked Hakone better than Kyoto. That was a great great compliment !! It was actually a very nice and enjoyable tour to me too because of you. I appreciated you because you always listened to my explanation very well with interests. And your smile faces you showed me at each spot encouraged me a lot. And the weather; It was not nice with little rain at the beginning but the sky became more blue as time went by. And finally we could see Mt. Fuji! The view of Mt. Fuji from the park building was just like a picture in a frame! I believed you brought that miracle weather. Thank you! One more thing; the restaurant! Their stake-don, a bowl of rice topped with beef stake was so delicious! Thank you very much for introducing me the restaurant!! I'll definitly try Uni-don next time! Again, thank you for having me as your Hakone guide this time! I'm very much looking forward to seeing you again in the near future. Please say hi to your girlfriend for me! Take care! Eiko
