Customer Reviews for Hakone Tours

We went to Hakone as winter camp and requested Tomoko-san to be our 1 day tour guide. She is very professional, fluent in English, know the place and history very well. We had 6 people in our group and she took care of all of us. She customized the trip schedule accordingly to our interests, and our pace. And it started snowing unexpectedly which means super cold, she even offered us hot tea and a jacket from her bag! She also arranges tours not only in Hakone, so if chance, we would definit... view more

My family enjoyed spending the day with Dai. He is very conscientious, kept us on schedule and made us feel very comfortable. He is very knowledgeable and kept us informed throughout the day. We especially liked visiting Hakone Maruyama and having a special trick box presentation. I highly recommend Dai. view more

Yuki did an excellent job showing up around Meiji shrine and Senso-Ji temple as well as taking us on a day trip to Hakone to view Mt.Fuji (includes many different forms of transportation). He was very helpful with helping us navigate the metro, trains, buses particularly with having a stroller and needing to use elevators at times. He was also very patient with our almost 5 year old who was holding Yuki’s hand by the end of the tour. view more

Yuji was very friendly, helpful and communicative even before we met. I had somewhat vague idea of how our trip should work out and Yuji provided much more details, did so much of preparation, including public transportation schedules, activitity passes,... Yuji was also flexible and attentive to our needs, especially when we have 2 little kids going with us. We thus highly recommend Yuji! view more

Junichiro is such an amazing guide. He was punctual and well versed in the Japanese culture. He asked us what we like to do and then he planned a great day around that. He kept us on time so that we could accomplish all the things we had planned. The wood working guy was awesome!! The 300 year old tree house and outside sculpture garden was amazing. We had a great lunch in the down town area. We felt we had really expirenced Hakone. So thankful for Junichiro’s recommendations, guidance and know... view more

Steve is a very kind and knowledgable guide. He speaks English very well which made it easy for us. We needed to rush a little because the train/subway system confused even him at times but we made all of the connections we needed to. He always chose the most economical mode of transport first and we upgraded when we felt like it made sense for us. We were both happy we chose a guided tour over doing it ourselves for the time we had view more

We had a wonderful day with Fumie leading our little family of 3 around Hakone. She was very communicative and detailed with logistics and instructions prior to the tour (much appreciated by this Type A person), and was both great at guiding us during our short day in Hakone while building in tons of flexibility since we had a two-year-old in tow. Not only was her friendly and calm demeanor helpful to our tired selves, but she was enthusiastic and attentive to our toddler -- who kept asking wher... view more

Koji helped us assemble two separate itineraries ahead of our arrival in Tokyo, and we were very happy with our experiences. Day 1 (Saturday) was Tokyo highlights, and we visited the fish market, the garden, took a river cruise, visited a shrine, Takeshita street, and the busy pedestrian crossing. Day 2 (Monday) was Mt. Fuji which we didn't see because of weather, but it was still a very good day. Koji was punctual, polite, insightful and resourceful throughout. We loaded up our tran... view more
