Customer Reviews for Aomori Tours

Having traveled to Japan a number of times and worked with a number of guides, I cannot emphasize enough how good a guide Miwi is. Her English is outstanding, and she is very conscientious in trying to accommodate all types of interests. In addition, she always followed up on questions and provided interesting background. Combined with her positive personality and quick laugh, it was a pleasure to explore Akita and Aomori with her. view more

Hisashi offered our group a varied itinerary for seven hours in and around Aomori. Unfortunately the ship was unable to dock for several hours due to poor weather conditions. Hisashi and the driver waited till we eventually came ashore and modified the tour to ensure we saw as much as possible in our remaining time. We visited the Nebuta Museum Wa Rasse then drove through the countryside to Kuroishi where we strolled the picturesque 19th century Komise-Dori street and enjoyed a delicious local l... view more

Miwi was full of life and very energetic about Aomori Prefecture. Unfortunately the weather was a bit snowy and our ship was delayed a couple hours from docking. However, Miwi altered the itinerary a bit and we had a wonderful day with her and our group of 8 from the cruise ship. We visited many great places that would not be possible with a ship tour. We visited Goshogawara Tachineputa with its amazing 23-metre high floats for the August festival. This was definitely a must-see place. We ... view more

We booked the transfer by bus from Aomori cruise terminal to Hakkoda ropeway, Towada lake and Oirase stream for 26 people. Our ship arrived two hours later, but the driver waited for us. Unfortunately, due to the strong wind, the ropeway to the mountains was closed, and boats did not go around the lake, but we spent our time walking along the lake, visiting the old temple in the forest, walking along the Oirase River with picturesque waterfalls. Great driver! Thank you! view more

Miwi is a wonderful guide and a great person! She made our day fascinating and so informative! Maps, depictions on her drawing pad (even writing each of our names in Japanese characters!) seeking out experiences we never would have had trying to do any of this on our own! We were three hours late getting off the ship but she was there, waiting for us with her infectious laugh and amazing smiles! We saw everything on our plan and truly, it was a wonderful six hours with her. Her English is eas... view more

Our family enjoyed a full day in Aomori with Hisashi. We visited Sannai Maruyama ruins, watched Nebuta parade, saw Inakadate rice art, visited Kuroishi Komise Street, and shopped at A-Factory. Hisashi was very helpful and accommodating. We were able to change lunch plans and add in some shopping. It was a very busy but fun day in Aomori! view more

Today Hiroyuki guided us the whole day in Aomori on a personalised tour in the mountainous area. He organised a van so we could travel comfortably. First we visited the Great Statue of Buddha in the vicinity of Aomori. Yuki is very knowledgeable and extremely well prepared as he explains the local customs and traditions. This is a must see! We did also a beautiful tour around lake Towada. Here we had a fantastic lunch. Later we drove along the Oirase Mountain Stream. This is actually a natio... view more

We had a good day with Hisashi. His English is good and he is friendly and informative. We chose where we wanted to go and he organised it. We had lunch at a small restaurant with a variety of Japanese food. There was something to suit everyone and the food was good and inexpensive. We would recommend Hisashi. view more
