In this tour you experience a tea ceremony in Japanese teahouse. And we visit Koishikawa Korakuen Garden, the Japanese garden created in 1629, designated as the Special Place of Scenic Beauty and Special Historic Site of the country by the Cultural Asset.

What to Expect

You experience Japanese culture and philosophy through a tea ceremony.
Tea master prepares tea by highly stylized manner called 'Temae'. You have Japanese sweet and tea in very settled atmosphere and learn spirit of Japanese culture influenced by Zen philosophy. Viewing a teahouse and tea utensils is one of the enjoyment as well.
Since I have been learning Tea Ceremony about 6 years I’m pleased to tell you the history of ‘Chado’ (the way of tea) and its aesthetics.

Koishikawa Korakuen Garden contains ponds, hills and beautifully designed bridges.
As you walk through around a big pound you encounter miniature view of oceans, rivers, mountains, countryside which has scenic beauty with nature.

“ Koishikawa Korakuen Garden and Tea House Tour ”

Tour was very good! Hiromi met us at our hotel and guided us to the Koishikawa Korakuen gardens 1st...cherry trees were not yet in bloom but the garden was still nice to walk around... we then went to another garden for the tea ceremony which was amazing! I am glad Hiromi was with us to translate at the tea ceremony... I would recommend Hiromi as a tour guide!

“ Garden Tour and Tea Ceremony ”

Hiromi was a good guide; she was friendly and happily answered my many questions and helped us with a Suica card mix-up. I was a little disappointed that our tea ceremony was in a hotel rather than a real tea house, however we booked our tour only a week ahead of time and Hiromi said that March is a busy month, so I understand that perhaps it wasn't possible. And, after the official tea ceremony was over, the host offered to let my brother and I make the tea ourselves, which was wicked cool (!) and an opportunity that I don't think would have been presented in a real tea house, so that made up for my initial disappointment. Thank you for a good tour!

Kira-san, Thank you very much for writing review. It was very nice meeting you and your brother. I'm sorry that you didn't like the tea house so much. Unfortunately since Tokyo is a big city many of tea houses are built inside of hotels. And each of them are different. There is a tea house with Japanese Garden, where conduct 'ryurei style' (seating on chair not tatami mattress). Also I use actual tea master's house which is used for real tea ceremony practice. It is really depends on availability of the tea house or tea room at that time... But one things I can say, I usually choose the place which is not tourist orientated and conducted by good tea master with proper tea utensils. I'm very glad to hear you enjoyed the tour, that is most important and I care for the customer. Thank you :)

“ Very informative ”

Hiromi was great. She showed us around, gave great information about the 5 different stops, and answered any questions we had. She was great giving recommendations for our future trip to another city. At the end of our tour, we told her we were having trouble finding local food, she directed us to the best fish we had every experienced. Thank you Hiromi!

Dear Brittney Thank you very much for writing the review. It was my pleasure to show you around Tokyo. Since it was your first time in Japan, I tried to show you as many places as I can. You and your husband are very pleasant people to be with. Please come to Japan with your baby next time! Thank you!

“ We had a fantastic first day in Tokyo ”

We had a fantastic day with Mrs Hiromi. She showed typical Japanse traditions; the art of bonsai and a traditional tea ceremony. This trip exceeded our high expectations. Apart from this, Mrs Hiromi is a very kind and patient person who helped us to understand Tokyo on our first day. Thank you!

Dear Eelco I'm very happy to know you enjoyed the tour. It was customized tour 'Experience Bonsai and Tea ceremony'. I myself enjoyed seeing you and your girlfriend creating Bonsai. It was fun being with two of you. Thank you very much! Please tell your girlfriend (sorry, that I can't spell her name) to enjoy Tokyo Marathone tomorrow!

“ Taking in Tokyo ”

Hiromi enabled us to take in a cross section of Tokyo’s key tourist sights in one day. It was a challenging umbrella day - we couldn’t see the tops of the high buildings due to mist. Hiromi used the subway and JR rail to move us efficiently between widely spaced locations. Hiromi has good English, a good knowledge of Tokyo, is friendly and has a quietly informative manner. It was a fun memorable day thanks.

Dear Mike & Brenda Thank you very much for writing the review. It was rainy and bit cold day. I hope you didn't catch a cold. It was interesting day for me as well. Same sights but different views in spring rain. Even I go same sights each moment are different. The moment is treasure for me. I appreciate your kindness during the tour! Thank you! :)
