In this tour you experience a tea ceremony in Japanese teahouse. And we visit Koishikawa Korakuen Garden, the Japanese garden created in 1629, designated as the Special Place of Scenic Beauty and Special Historic Site of the country by the Cultural Asset.
Feel free to personalize this offer with Hiromi.
You experience Japanese culture and philosophy through a tea ceremony.
Tea master prepares tea by highly stylized manner called 'Temae'. You have Japanese sweet and tea in very settled atmosphere and learn spirit of Japanese culture influenced by Zen philosophy. Viewing a teahouse and tea utensils is one of the enjoyment as well.
Since I have been learning Tea Ceremony about 6 years I’m pleased to tell you the history of ‘Chado’ (the way of tea) and its aesthetics.
Koishikawa Korakuen Garden contains ponds, hills and beautifully designed bridges.
As you walk through around a big pound you encounter miniature view of oceans, rivers, mountains, countryside which has scenic beauty with nature.
Guide fee, hotel pick-up in Tokyo, fee for tea ceremony and entrance fee for Koishikawa Korakuen Garden.
Transportation fee (you and guide): About 1000yen /per person.
Please wear confortable shoes to walk.
I usually reserve a tea house
- Tea house nicely built inside of the hotel (traditional style using, sitting on Tatami mattress)
- Detached tea house inside of the Japanese garden (It is ryurei style (sitting on chair). The garden is beautiful)
It depends on the availability of the tea houses. But if you have preference, please let me know in advance. I may not able to guarantee the tea house you like, but I try to reserve the one you chose.
No. We usually sit with the style of 'Seiza' (sit on one's heels).
But you can sit comfortable way.

We had a wonderful time walking around the beautiful gardens but the highlight of the day was the tea ceremony. Absolutely amazing!
Thank you very much for writing the review. The review really encourages me. I would like to make further efforts to give great tours to my customer. It was very nice meeting you and your family ! Have a wonderful time in Japan:)
Hiromi was well prepared for the tour. She took me to some interesting places and i was able to accomplish what i was looking for. I would just add a comment..compared with other similar tours i took, the tour would be much better if Hiromi would throw in more interesting facts about Japan in general as we walk from place to place and not just when we get to the place. She definitely answered all my questions but other tourguides i had were able to bring up very intetesting facts about Japan and tbe lications we were visiting that I would never ask about because i would not know to ask. That nade those tours so much more intetesting. But that is just FYI....
Dear Michal Thank you very much for writing the review. Customer's feed back is very important for me to make my tour better. I appreciate the review. I hope many nice photos you have taken in the tour leave you lots of good memory of Japan.
Hiromi was on time and polite and new the Japan rail system like the back of her hand! She was so kind and helpful and very well informed about the Japanese Tea Ceremony and the Gardens and was about to educate my mother and I. It was great spending the day with Hiromi and I highly recommend her to everybody!
Thank you very much for writing review. It was very nice meeting you and your mother. During the tea ceremony, I could see you and your mother are very interested in Japanese culture. It is my pleasure to know that I could introduce some part of our culture. Thank you for being my guest. Hopefully see you again some day :)
We met in the morning and went through all the agreed itinerary. The tour was good - not exiting.
Thank you very much for writing review. There may be lots of walking in the tour...? Any way it was very nice meeting you and your artistic family.
We met Hiromi in our hotel on our first day in Japan (having come in the night before.) We were able to visit some slightly out-of-the-way places (on our request) including Todoroki Valley, the Kuhonbutsu Joshinji Temple, a local, non-touristy market called Musashikoyama (the longest downtown style shopping arcade in Tokyo) and at the end of our tour, she led us to the Tsukiji fish market (the outer market which is filled with interesting shops.) Importantly, she provided us with our introduction to using the Japanese rail system (which is awesome) and was very attentive to our interests throughout the tour. She is a very lovely person and speaks English well.
Thank you very much for writing nice review. Your request for the tour was non-touristy places. It was interesting and challenging tour for me as well. At this time of the year, most of the sight seeing places are very crowded with many people. But this tour was very relaxing surrounded by you and your friends who are very cheerful. Thank you very much for giving opportunity to conduct the tour :)
