In Saturday afternoon, Kojirin of Engakuji holds Zazen meeting for beginners. I attended the meeting for the first time. I listened to the explanation by a monk, experienced a Zen meditation, and I felt like very much refreshed. Zen spirit goes well with Samurai warrior's feelings who needs peace of mind on the battlefield. When we sit in Zen meditation, past and future matters come to our mind. What it matters is current situation. A monk explained that we should sit straight and focus on our breath. Then we can look at ourselves. I didn't understand it well, but he said it was important to notice that you were not focused. You find your motivation and goal. I am yet far from enlightenment, but I would like to join the meeting from time to time.
