Yanesen Diary - For those who love cats

 Yanesen is a perfect place

In Yansesen there are many shops cafe related to cat, therefore it is a must-to-visit place for cat lovers. Here are some of them.

Kaiun Yanaka Do                                                                                                                                                                                                  Kaiun means getting fortunate. This shop sells dolls and goods which represent Maneki Neko (beckoning cat) which is believed to invite good fortune.

However once you pass in front of this cafe you will never miss it becuase it has so unique and catchy appearance. You may wonder why there are so many cat related shops and cafe here in Yanaka. It is because  many stray cats are living in this neighborhood. If you are lucky during my Yanesen Walking Tour you can see some of them like the following picture

Mack was very organized prior to our arrival in Tokyo. He corresponded quickly and was not only able to plan our itinerary but make restaurant recommendations and bookings for a big party. On the day of, he was on time. He knew the subway system well and the details of each site. We were the very first to request a visit to a hedgehog cafe which he researched and arranged for us to go to wi...

Mack is one of the most amazing guides I have ever had the pleasure of being escorted by on a tour. He worked around all my mental and physical issues to ensure we cover as much as possible on our trip. I was so amazed and truly touched when he sent me a postcard with the Yayoi Kusama Museum when I was in Kyoto. I was really wanting to see the museum but they had no availability so he sent me a p...

After a long week of skiing, my family had the great pleasure of being shown around Tokyo by Mack. He was an excellent tour guide because he was extremely organised and knew his way around the city very well. We were very grateful for Mack’s generosity and patience. It was an exciting and memorable experience. I cannot recommend Mack highly enough.

I have taken many tours and I must say Mack was one of my most favorite guides. Prior to our trip I let Mack know that we wanted to see as many historical sites as possible and we were okay with any suggestions he may have. Well Mack delivered, we went all over Tokyo and saw most everything we wanted to see and then some. A couple of the highlights were one Mack planned and one I believe we just ...

“ Our Tokyo tour with Mack - Simply the BEST ”

Excellent

To put it simply, booking a tour with Mack was the best thing we could have done! We spent two days under Mack’s expert guidance and visited many wonderful sights of Tokyo by foot and rail. Mack taught us how to use the subway and JR lines which set us up beautifully for the rest of our trip to Hiroshima and Kyoto which we did on our own. Mack sent us a well prepared itinerary before we ar...

Mack picked us up from our Airbnb and took us around Tokyo. He came up with a plan to optimize the day we had and completed everything. But most importantly he showed us how to use the subway system to get around in Tokyo. He also planned our trip to Mt Hakone and sent it in writing giving us clear instructions. I would ask Mack for help anytime.

It was a pleasure to have Mack as our tour guide in Tokyo. As first timers in Japan, we had little idea on how we can maximize our stay in Japan. Even if we just booked him for only one and a half day, Mack had been indeed, very helpful in every step of the way. He would go the extra mile to make sure that we take the right train, always updating us and concerned of our whereabouts throughout our...

We had a fantastic experience with Mack. He is very knowledgeable, helpful and showed us some great hidden gems that we would not have otherwise seen. He created a perfect 6 hour tour including temples and shrines in Yanesen, a great ramen lunch and a tour and happy hour in the district we were staying in Kaguruzaka. I also enjoyed the historical context that Mack gave along the way, very interest...
