Winter - The Best Season to See Mt. Fuji

by Nobu - Japan Licensed Guide

Do you know which is the best season to see Mt. Fuji?

The answer is "Winter" without any possibility of doubt!

The main reasons are:

1) There is a higher possibility of seeing Mt. Fuji in winter due to clean and cold air.

2) We can see beautiful snow capped Mt. Fuji.

Of course, it is very cold but almost all of the sightseeing facilities are open and in operation all year-round.  We can even go up to the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji (2,305m high) as long as Fuji Subaru Line (the toll road) is open.

There are also attractive places around Mt. Fuji such as Oshino Hakkai Springs, Iyashi no Sato Nenba, Shiraito no Taki Falls, etc.

If you have any chance to visit Japan in winter, why don't you go to Mt. Fuji?

If you are interested in visiting Mt. Fuji, please take a look at my existing tour.

It was an exciting and interesting visit to Mount Fuji. With a family of 5, we were lucky to see clear blue sky with Mount Fuji clearly visible. We started our day from Shin Okubu at 8.30am and arrived Lake Kawamuchigo at 9.45am. As we were early, there’s no queue and we managed to go for lake cruise without much waiting time. Thanks to Nobu San in planning such an agenda for us. He is definitely ...

Hi. My family and I recently spent a week in Tokyo. One of the places we wanted to visit was Mt. Fuji. I considered booking a daytrip before arriving in Tokyo but I understood that the weather was a big factor in being able to see Mt. Fuji and I was not convinced of the accuracy of the weather forecasts 2-3 weeks before the trip. Also, almost all of the day trips to Mt. Fuji required us to mee...

I had requested a driver with a car, but apparently there was some confusion about that and Nobu arrived at my hotel on time, but on foot. I'm so glad he did after all! Not only did he take me to where I wanted to go, but he was incredibly knowledgable about everything Tokyo. Getting around on the Metro with him was soooo much easier and fun. We even went to the Micro Pig cafe together. As well, I...

Nobu is an amazing guide who knows how to navigate the ways. We went around Tokyo City for a day and another one was spent at Sendai. He knew of the places and history, so we were made aware of the stories behind a particular building/area etc. We had a 4 year old active child and must compliment that Nobu was very patient with her. Thank you for all your help, Nobu!
