Where is Japanese Sake From?

Where is Japanese sake from?

Although there are some sake breweries in America and Europe, let's be traditionalist and focus for now on the sake from Japan. There are a few prefectures especially famous for sake production such as Niigata, Hyogo, and Hiroshima. But in fact, all prefectures in Japan except Kagoshima produce sake (even tropical Okinawa). There used to be a distinct type of flavor per region, but in recent years production has become more and more diverse and now it has become difficult to pin down a distinct flavor per region. Rather, sake drinkers choose depending on individual brewer or for instance, pureness.

“ A fantastic day! ”

Excellent
1 day ago Traveler: Karen -   Tour Guide: Kazumi

My family of six had only one day to spend in the Hiroshima area. I am so happy we had Kazumi as a guide to Miyajima Island and to the Peace Park in Hiroshima. She is very personable, and my family felt very comfortable with her. Kazumi was very flexible with our itinerary, and had other suggestions for us for things to do once our tour with her was done. The time with her was well spent!

5 days ago Traveler: Carolina -   Tour Guide: Keiko

We had four different guides in four different cities in Japan, and Keiko was our favorite. Our group spent a whole day with her exploring Miyajima. She met us at our hotel in Hiroshima and then brought us back to the hotel. We had a big group - 12 of us in total - with ages ranging from 2 to 78 years old, and everyone thought she was the best guide. Not only was she knowledgeable, but she was ver...

We loved touring with Hideo! He was so polite and so accomodating to whatever we wanted to do and see. 1 week ago Traveler: Michael -   Tour Guide: Hugh

Hugh did a really good job with my family! As a group of seven people, spanning from 12 years old all the way to 72, he helped us enjoy the full day. We spent half a day at the Peace Park and atomic bomb museum, and then the afternoon over at Miyajima. Great day overall. Hugh even walked to the far end of the tourist area at Miyajima to take us to the top of an out of the way Buddhist temple. ...

My family (husband and 2 teenage daughters) and I had a fantastic time with Hugh as he took us to Okunoshima Island to see the bunnies and poison gas museum along with Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Dome. What do I say about Keiko.. She is a lovely person in addition to being an excellent tour guide. She told an immense amount of details and little nuggets without which our experience would have been grossly incomplete. The details of the Itsukushima shrine, the Buddha teample at the top of the hill, the Atom Bomb museum and the survivir stories.. It gave a very real and tangible feel to the visit....
