Ancient Capital Kyoto Autumn Leaves
Best viewing time: early November - early December

Kyoto gets massively crowded during the autumn leaves season. And for good reason: it becomes one of the most enchanting places in all of Japan. Packed with momiji trees (the ones that turn yellow and then red), backed with temple after temple, this town guarantees you loads of kodak-moments. If you get off the beaten track (just look into the Lonely Planet and then choose those temples not listed) there are lots of beautiful places without other tourists than yourself cluttering your photos.
