Tsukiji Fish Market

Yesterday, I guided Australian family to Tsukiji fish market. Father and his son (12 years old) came from Singapore for his son’s spring vacation.  Tsukiji market is one of the unique place where you can feel their professionalism as fishermen.  The documentary film called “Tsukiji Wonderland” shows that well. The youtube URL is : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rc5yYiWUdK8.

Tsukiji Fish Market

The Australian family enjoyed tasting some food samples; Tsukudani, which is preserved small fish by simmering with soy sauce, and roasted nuts, and Japanese green tea, etc. Usually children like sweets but the son preferred fish to sweets.  I specially ordered Sea urchin Gunkan Sushi for them.  They said they have never tasted such a delicious sea urchin in their life.

If you come to Japan, I will guide you to Tsukiji fish market where you can enjoy watching their professionalism and tasting delicious food.

We couldn’t find any tours of Nikki area that started in Nikko. Mari met us in Nikko and guided us through Shinkyo Bridge, Rinnoji Temple, Toshogu Shrine, Taiyuinbyo, Futarasan Shrine and Tamozawa Villa. She explained the history of the area and temples, made sure we saw and understood famous and important things in each area. We have toured other shrines and temples in Japan as part of large grou...

Mari also took us to Sumo practice, Tsujuki market and sushi making course. We learned a lot and Mari was very engaging with all of us, knowledgeable, authentic, well prepared as well as flexible to adjust our itinerary on the go. She ...

With three weeks in Japan we needed to understand the rail system and thanks to Mari, we learned quickly how to get around. Mari helped us with the Pasmo travel card and Shinkansen ticket to Kyoto. On our first day with Mari she took us to the Imperial Gardens, Tokyo Tower and Asakusa. On our second day with Mari we travelled to Nikko. On the third day she was very happy to take us to places we ...

“ Fantastic guide! ”

Mari was amazing! She was patient and caring, with a sense of humor and wonderful flexibility. She did everything possible to meet (and exceed) our needs. Plus, she went above and beyond in so many ways: helping us get JR tickets and securing our reservations on Shinkansen, setting us up on Passmo, giving us an origami lesson, and so much more.

There is a reason why Mari has high reviews. I booked a tour with her and she was very accommodating, prompt and knowledgeable about the area. She truly made my stay in Japan a great one and I would highly recommend her to anyone else wanting to tour Japan. She even brought a cooling neck wrap because it was hot the day of our tour. She really puts her guest first and enjoys what she does and it s...

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Mari and TripleLights. The online experience with TripleLights was well-designed and helped me to choose a great tour guide. Mari did a great job of putting together a private 3 hour layover tour for me. She met me at the airport and in the short time we had we visited a temple, a shrine, did some shopping, sake tasting and tried some fresh eel. I would highly recommend if you have a long layover, to look her up and get out of the airport :)
