The beautiful cherry blossoms started falling in last weekend. It was really comfortable temperature (around 25 degrees) in Tokyo, then soooooo many foreign tourist visited Imparial Palace!
At first, we walked around outside of the palace (Koukyogaien). I took a picture of Main Gate Stone Bridge (Seimon Ishibashi) . The bridge was built as a main gate bridge of Edo castle when the castle was repaired in Edo era.
Tatsumi Yagura is the turret in the corner of Imperial Palace. The turret was remained when the great fire swept Edo castle and Edo town in 1657 (called “The Fire Kimono”).
We are able to enter the East Gardens of Imparial Palace for free. Otemon gate is the major entrance of the gardens.
A girl was playing on the flower river!
Edo castle was burned out in the above‐mentioned great fire but the strongly-built castle ground are remained. Some of the pieces are black because of the scorch of the fire.
Tokarakudo Music Hall was built in 1966 to cerebrate the 60th birthday of the Empress (at that time) in Showa period.
Dandelion is full bloom in spring :)
We are able to buy various souvenirs at the Imperial Household souvenir shop.
