Taiko-no-Tatsujin (Japanese Drum Master)

by Mari

Here, a college boy is playing the drum in a game center.  To start, he chooses a song from a number of choices.  They are set at various speeds to test your ability.  He follows the promptings and beats the drum to the right rhythm in the area of the drum.  When he sees red circles on the display, he is supposed to beat the center of the drum, and for blue circles, the rim(edge) of the drum.  For each beat he gets a point as either good, ok or no good.  At the end of the song, the total score is displayed.

Why not challenge Taiko-no-tatsujin while you stay in Japan?  It is a fun game, and you just might become a 'Taiko-no-Tatsujin'  - a drum master!!

Hi, I'm Mari. Welcome to Japan!

I'm a government certified English tour guide. I would love to help you discover more of
Japan. I went to high school in Georgia, USA and studied Biology at State University of New York. I love traveling and meeting people.

In my tour, it's my pleasure to offer a mini culture lecture such as folding paper(making a crane out of a piece of paper) and kanji of its fascinating structure. Also, please let me know if you wish to arrange a tour for your own interest.
