Visitors SIM Visitors SIM is a data connection service which can be valid for 14 days or untill the data limit is over. Two types of cards are available: a 1 GB type, providing 14 days of access or a total of 1 GB of data on the high-speed LTE and 3G networks, and a 14-Day type providing unlimited access of up to 300kbps for 14 days. This service allows you to put the sim card into your own phone and use the internet services upto 1 GB and upto the speed limit of 300 Kbps.  This service is available for any type of user phone however can only be used for browing internet and making internet calls.

Service Type:  Data communication only- No voice service

How to purchase:  Only online purchase but it can be delivered to  airports, hotels or any residence in Japan within 2-4 days of the order placement

The So-net Prepaid card is for the visitors with long term stay plan ususally between 30 days to 60 days. Plan Plan 100M Plan 500M SIM card types Normal SIM, Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM

Cards can be purchased from machines at the Internet and telephone corner at Kansai International Airport, Mobile Center outlets at Narita International Airport, Haneda Airport International Terminal, and New Chitose Airport International Terminal, Kyoto City Bus and Subway Information Center, Akibaoo shops in Akihabara, Laox outlets in Akihabara and Ginza, and Dospara shops throughout Japan.   • OCN Mobile Once Prepaid SIMs  

The NTT Communications prepaid SIM for smartphones uses NTT Docomo’s LTE and 3G networks and gives users up to 100 MB of high-speed data per day for 14 days. SIM cards come in standard, micro, and nano sizes and cost ¥3,780, tax included.  These cards provide a similar type of service like B-mobile however they come with the instructions to use Japan connected free-wifi service.   These SIM cards can be bought online from the official website and delivered to hotels, post offices at select airports, or any set address in Japan.Cards can also be purchased at Xcom Global counters at Haneda, Narita, Kansai, and Chūbu Centrair airports as well as from a machine located inside the Narita Excel Hotel Tōkyū.

  • Soft Bank Global Rental  

If you are looking for SIM card rentals with Voice call services then  Soft bank is the most prefered and convinient option. The wireless carrier SoftBank provides rental of data SIM cards, mobile phones, smartphones, and mobile routers. Daily rental fees are ¥110 for data SIM cards with voice calls, ¥260–¥540 for mobile phones, ¥210–¥540 for iPhones, and ¥1,290–¥1,590 for mobile routers. Call and data rates for devices, excluding mobile routers, are metered according to usage; data access on iPhone SIM cards is metered to ¥1,550 per day and unlimited afterward. SIM cards and devices can be rented at select SoftBank shops and major international airports such as Narita, Haneda, Chūbu Centrair, and Kansai International. Mak was great - we saw the Nijo-Jo castle and the Golden Pavilion and 2 other wonderful sites. We ate an authentic Japanese lunch and we even had green tea ice cream.
