Samurai inside Honmaru Goten, Kawagoe Castle's keep
Honmaru Goten, which is located in Kawagoe city in Saitama prefecture, was built in 1848 during the Edo(now Tokyo) period(1603-1867). Although this cultural property may be different from a fixed image which travellers from abroad imagine about Japanese castles, the value of the building is high because its grand hall and entrance remain intact and it is rare. The Kawagoe domain produced 6 cabinet ministers of the Tokugawa Shogunate which was one of the largest among all feudal domains. Today, Kawagoe is a popular sightseeing spot because it has an unchanged, traditional townscape and historical interests and it is easy to access to Kawagoe from Tokyo. Why don't you join my tour?
