The first shogun in the Edo period(1603-1867), Tokugawa Ieyasu accomplished various things about development of Edo(present-day Tokyo ) in which civil engineering work is worthy of recognition, consisting mainly of reclamation, changing the routes of rivers and construction of tap water system. These are all difficult works and all has become the foundation of today's Tokyo. A park in the northeast area in Tokyo, Mizumoto Park is a large natural park along the waterway which is a remnant of the old main stream of Tone river after the Edo shogunate completed the work of changing its stream directly into the Pacific ocean from the Tokyo Bay estuary. Mizumoto Park is close to my tour, Japanese hometown in movie setting, Shibamata's locatlon. It is a good place for viewing of both cherry blossoms and autumn colored leaves. I would like to make an itinerary for you, combining with Shibamata. Why don't you join me?
