Communal space for washing body, soaking in large bathtub while seeing mural
The number of public bath houses in Tokyo decreased from 2,400 in1980 to 600 in 2016 . When I was a child, there were few houses which were provided with bath rooms, so I used to go to neighboring one in daily lives. Including the bath house(the photo above), at Edo Tokyo Open-air Architectural Museum inside Koganei Park, there are 30 restoration buildings such as merchants', farmers', residential houses and so on. The whole concept of displays makes visitors feel the atmosphere of old ages from the Edo period(1603-1867) to the pre World War Ⅱ. Besides buildings, things used in the past are arranged in the ground, for example, a street car. This cultural facility is in harmony with surrounding nature. It's wonderful. Why don't you join me?
