Old Imperial Palace is open to the public

Actually the Enperor lived here.

This place had been an important place.

If you had livend at that time, you wouldn't have seen this in your life.

This was such a special place.

Basically Old Imperial palace was closed to the public, To see this, you were required to make a reservation, and show your passport to enter.

However, tentatively, now it is opened to the public this year.

Please don't miss this great chance!!!!

The succession ceremony was held here. The Enperors succeeded the title here except the current Emperor.

This is the private section

The Emperor made a prayer facing Ise jingu shrine, every morning here.

Inside of the curtain is for taking a rest.

Can you see the guardian animals you can see at the gate of the shrines in Japan?

It is worth visiting.

Tomoko has a good command of the English Language and Japanese history. She was accomodating towards our request for the tour and choice of lunch. Due to the great distance between each tourist site in Kyoto, we found that we spent alot of time travelling on the bus/train. Although that is an experience in itself , it took up the bulk of the time. Tomoko took care to assist us at the ticket booths ...

The night Gion tour was the best and very interesting. details of history of temples and Garden areas interesting. Pleasant and very accomodating. Be aware the total cost of tour is higher if guide travels with you anywhere except a walking tour. Our evening tour was a fixed price however we used our JR passes for Nara and had been asked by guide to pay for her transportation. It was a little on ...
