Not Too Hot, Not Too Cold

by Mieke - TripleLights travel specialist

The temperature in autumn in Japan is just right: not too hot, not too cold, but complimented by a fair amount of sunshine. You miss the humid, hot summer. This season can be survived only with the help of ‘cooling gel’ and the occasional flight into a convenience store with maximum force airco. Also, you can evade winter, which is also not too bad, but it can get cold, and you run the risk of getting stuck in your hotel because public traffic stops running when snow falls (which is something my friend experienced for some 3 days in winter 2013). Spring is another popular season to visit the country because of the sakura blooming. But the colourful sights of autumn can definitely compete with that if you ask me. In autumn, you can enjoy the lingering summer heat and still walk outside at night with only a t-shirt on (and maybe a pair of pants if you want to avoid getting arrested).

Kosuke was a great guide and driver. And a joy to share the day with. Very knowledgeable but not pedantic. Answered all of our questions and enjoyed doing so. We would love to do it again.

We enjoyed a great two days in Tokyo with Akira! We spent one day on the East side of Tokyo and one day on the West side of Tokyo. We were able to see all that was promised and more! He took us to all of the places on our itineraries, and when we had extra time, he filled it in with more fun! Akira spoke English fluently and was very easy to understand, and was knowledgeable about the sites an...

“ Amazing visit in Tokyo! ”

4 hours ago Traveler: Stephanie -   Tour Guide: Eiko

My family just spent two days being guided through Tokyo by Eiko. She was by far the best tour guide we could have chosen. Even through our messaging prior to coming to Tokyo Eiko was always interested in what we wanted to see and to do in putting our itinerary together. As soon as I messaged her, she would immediately respond back. When we arrived in Tokyo, she had put together an itinerary that ...

Young and old we all are amaze with magic - how did he ever do that - often thats the question we silently asked in our minds? Magic brings that innocent exitement and happiness within us. From one inquiry to the other, prompt replies, unexpected updates, showing up to the airport even if we didn't asked him to (just to make sure we will arrive to our hotel safe and sound) and so on . . . ...

It was great to experience sushi making with Tetsuro. He informed us in advance that the fish market is closed on the day we could follow his lesson, and he took us to some shops with professional cooking equipment instead. This was also very interesting. Thank you, Tetsuro !

We required a guide who can speak good English and is knowledgeable of the history of the places that we are interested in touring in Kyoto and Osaka. From a roster of guides on Triple Lights, we chose Toshi because he had his college education in the U.S. and worked as a media coordinator which hopefully will ensure a well-organized tour. We were not disappointed. Toshi had good command of bo...

“ We loved our tour with Yuki! ”

Excellent
15 hours ago Traveler: Ashley -   Tour Guide: Yuki

We were a group of 4 girls traveling from the US and none of us had visited Japan before. Yuki spoke great English, helped us get our subway passes and JR pass and was a great tour guide for the day. He was also very flexible and took us to see a garden we had not originally planned. We enjoyed our day with Yuki and highly recommend him!
