There is a good one unknown tourism spot in Nara City… It is the Prefectural Government Office rooftop! For me, it is a must to go but unfortunately, tourists who know this spot are few.
The Prefectural Government Office is near Nara Park, in front of Kofukuji. Its entrance is free. You can access to the rooftop through elevators.
Level 2 if you are braver. You can go up the 30 meters high grass rooftop, stairs allows you to go up at 50 meters. Take your breath after you went up and you can admire the view! North, south, east, west, the view of all the neighborhood is even over the city and it is worth it.
1. 50 meters up
2. Japon and Nara flags in front of Kofukuji
3. Park and pagoda view
The Nara Prefectural Government Office rooftop is a must to go if you want to have a first view of Nara City when you visit it. Mount Ikoma to the west, Mount Wakakusa to the east, Nara Park to the south, Mount-borders with Kyoto to the north… Ideal for locating yourself. I am waiting for you!
